Time for the end of year surveys!


Was 2007 a good year for you?
It was a crazy year. There were some definite ups and downs. The downs: I found out I owed a LOT of money in taxes when I was already drowning. My car got broken into and stuff got stolen, I began to really hate my neighbors, my writing wasn’t going well, my laptop computer died, I got (and still am) really sick. The ups: I got to travel a lot because my friends are generous, I got a new computer for Christmas, I got to see a Broadway play, Adam asked me to marry him! 🙂

Where were you, and who were you with, when 2007 began? And where will you be when it ends?
I was here in my apartment with Aidan. Tonight, I will likely be at Heather’s.

What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
I went to New York City, Altanta, San Francisco, San Jose, and Dragon*Con. Tried bubble tea, and a deep-fried strawberry shortcake. Also a deep-fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Saw a Weird Al concert. Rode the NYC subway. Got stuck on a plane for hours in Cleveland because it was too foggy to land in Columbus (thank goodness that jetBlue has satellite TV on all their planes!). Met Wanda wlotus, Rosa meimeigui, and Katy drkangelmommy.

Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No, I did not keep them. I won’t make any for 2008.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
A friend at work had an adorable little boy.

Did anyone you know die?
Yes. The receptionist at Zaner-Bloser.

Did you attend any weddings or funerals?
Yes, I attended Rosa’s meimeigui) wedding in May! 🙂

What countries did you visit?
I didn’t leave the USA.

Did you move anywhere?
No.

What sporting events did you go to?
None.

What concerts did you go to?
Weird Al.

What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
More money; unlimited time with Adam; the motivation, muse, ideas, and drive to finish writing a novel; a book contract

What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory and why?
September 13, 2007. The day Adam proposed to me. 🙂

What were your biggest achievements of the year?
Aidan!!! 🙂
No more debt!
Making it through the year with no accidents or speeding tickets.
Getting off Lexapro!
Reading 186 new books.

What was your biggest failure?
My writing “career”.

Did you suffer any illness or injury?
Chronic sinus infection. Still suffering from it. Ow. 🙁

What was the best thing you bought?
Sweaters.

Adam’s so patient with me.
Andy’s because he got me a new computer!

Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The fucktard who broke into my car and stole stuff.

Where did most of your money go?
Bills, taxes, rent.

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Anytime I got to see Adam, New York City, RENT.

I spent Christmas with my mom and Greg and Adam at first, then I spent Christmas afternoon and evening with Adam. It was awesome.

I’m already in love with my Adam.

No. Still dislike the same people.

Impluse by Ellen Hopkins, Such a Pretty Girl by Laura Weiss, the Private series by Kate Brian, the Leven Thumps series by Obert Skye (LOVE LOVE LOVE!), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling

What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Cruxshadows. Love them!

What did you want and get?
A new computer, an iPod, a trip to New York, to see Rent on Broadway, a marriage proposal from Adam

A finished novel out of me, a promotion at work

Juno

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 33, and I hung out with Adam and went to see Juno.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Finishing a book and selling it.

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Sweaters and jeans, or tee-shirts and jeans.

Did you make any significant changes to your appearance?
Nope.

What kept you sane?
Adam, and writing on Live Journal.

Nope.

Zaner-Bloser and one small freelance project.

No.

Yes, when I filled out a report because of the break-in.

Not a damn thing.

I missed Adam. As always. And Aidan, whenever he wasn’t around me.

My future in-laws. MacKenzie, at work.

– Write a novel.
– Sell a novel.
– Travel.
– Get a great job making good money.
– move to Chicago sooner than later.
– Have a beautiful wedding in November to Adam.
– Go back to a Disney park (honeymoon!)

I will try to be more positive. Try to write more. Try to write more in my paper journal. Try to have more faith in myself.

d. Stick to my budget, even if I start making more money.

What will you not be doing in 2008?
Spending gobs of money.

Wedding in November, moving sometime next year, Aidan starting KINDERGARTEN next fall.

I’d like to see things in a more positive light.

– I hope to become more assertive, less likely to freak out.
– I will be doing better financially once I settle down.
– I will be able to write once things settle down.

What happened in 2007 that you didn’t think would ever happen?
– I got to go to New York City.
– I got to see a Broadway show.
– Adam asked me to marry him.

I usually drink socially.

I hope so.

I changed a lot. I’m a little bit more optimistic now.

Just the one I already have.

I will NOT be robbed again!

I’m heading to a party at Heather’s. Probably won’t stay late; I’m not feeling so hot.

Will you have someone to kiss at midnight?
Nope. The guy I want to kiss is working tonight. Not to mention two states away. 🙁
