sunday

To Dogs! No, Benny, to you.

After yesterday’s emo crap (which is now locked), Aidan and I went up to Aurora to visit my mommy. I hadn’t been up there since August because my car needed some maintenance. The car is maintained, so I drove up. It was nice. We had a nice long chat, and Aidan got spoiled, and Mommy ordered pizza and wings from Pizza Slut for us all to enjoy. I also got to soak up a bit of the America’s Next Top Model marathon on MTV and lots of Thanksgiving shows on Food Network. Sometimes it’s nice to watch cable. I haven’t had it in so long.

Aidan’s with her for the week, coming back next Sunday. He’s so cute, and he loves his grandmommy. But he loves me too, he says it to me sooo much.

I also did shit tons of laundry. Now I have clean towels and sheets and lots and lots of clean underwear.

The drive wasn’t too bad, either, both ways. Today it was rainy which was a little bit annoying, but not really. I blasted the RENT soundtrack for most of the way, then switched to my autumn mix, which includes the Carrie Underwood song Before He Cheats, which is a fun song to sing.

My mom made me some roasted chicken and dressing to bring back, as I won’t be with her for Thanksgiving this year. That’ll be my taste of her holiday food.

I’ll have it all eaten by Wednesday.

And… and… I’m just too excited because my of awesome fiancé. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Gosh, I have finally snapped out of this damn funk I’ve been in all week thanks to him. More details soon. Eeek! I am so excited now. December’s going to be so busy for me, and I can’t wait. It’s always been my favorite month. Must have something to do with it having my birthday, and Aidan’s birthday, and Christmas, and New Years, and all that good stuff. It’s also the only month I don’t mind when it snows (unless the snow/ice/cold interferes with my travel plans).

So now that I have tons of things to look forward to, it’s going to make work easier, and it’ll make waiting for the big move easier, too.

See ya.

As usual, Sundays go way too quickly. It’s kind of annoying.

I decided to do the 101 in 1001. My list is here: 101 in 1001 || RonniStyle. My start date is tomorrow. I plan to keep most of my updates about it there, but I’ll probably talk about it here from time to time as well. I saw that lovely_lunai was doing it, and I think starlit12 is doing it as well. Good times.

Last weekend, Aidan and his dad went to Kentucky. Here are some pix from that trip:

…check it out…

Some of Y’all Try to Rhyme But Y’all Can’t Rhyme Like This

Had an okay Sunday. I was actually kind of productive, if you want to know the truth. I sort of organized my CDs (I actually simply repacked most of them), and I partnered the missing cases with their CD counterparts. I still have a lot of blank cases and CDs that don’t seem to know where they go, so I guess I have some more work to do. And I didn’t find my Boys II Men Motownphilly CD. Boo.

Last month, Adam gave me a VCR because he knew I’d wanted one and that they’re stupidly expensive. He had an extra randomly lying around, and offered it to me. THAT was fun getting home on the plane, let me tell you. 🙂 Anyway, I finally got around to hooking it up today, and the Playstation I got from my mom’s on Christmas. YAY, right? I spent hours watching old MMC episodes. OMG yes, I can still do a LOT of the dance steps. It’s been 14 years, but I picked up on those steps like it was yesterday. That’ll help keep me in shape, that’s for sure. I had fun going down MMC/Memory Lane. I have tapes and tapes of MMC stuff to watch, not to mention tapes of movies like Little Girls in Pretty Boxes (a Lifetime Original starring Swoosie Curtz!), and I should have the video of when I actually met MMC. Good times. It’s so cool to have a VCR again. All I need now is a universal remote. And a memory card for the Playstation. I wonder if they’re really cheap for the original? I suppose I can check at Buy It/Trade It, because as usual, people on eBay overcharge for shipping. Greedy-you-know whats. I’m not dumb enough to think it costs $8 to ship a freakin’ one ounce piece of equipment.

I didn’t eat much today, but I think what I ate was good. I had a small Healthy Choice frozen dinner. It was on sale for $1.84 and I wanted something quick. I am usually wary of frozen dinners because they tend to have a LOT of sodium. But this had only about 500 mgs of sodium (2 grams per day is what my mom, who has a heart condition, is allowed to have, and I try to keep within that range for myself). The meal was chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans and carrots. I also supplemented with a serving of sauteed fresh spinach and a slice of wheat bread. Yummy.

Big Brother. This is my feeling about it right now: >.< *sigh* Blah. It's already after 10pm. Another long week ahead, but at least there is a new HARRY POTTER book at the end. I hope the week doesn't go by too terribly slow, as I'll be looking forward to that greatly. I will shut myself off from the world next weekend, so if you call or anything, don't be offended if I don't answer. Just sayin'. G'night.

Spider Pig, Spider Pig, Does Whatever A Spider Pig Does (Pictures)

Another weekend over, another month over. Well, not exactly. Now it’s July, so it’s a new month. Technically.

This is me in Springfield:

(get your own at the movie website!)

I’m watching Rent–the movie–right now. I’d never seen it before. I’m trying to watch as many of my movies in the Netflix queue as I can before July 15th, just in case I actually decide to cancel. I’m cutting out every extra thing that costs that I can, because I want to save as much as I can. But Netflix–it’s so relatively cheap and I get to watch lots of movies, and it’s so much cheaper than going to a movie, and driving to a movie. *sigh*

Spent the weekend with little Aidan. We had a few trying times. He can be stubborn and dramatic, and he also had a penchant for being very demanding in not a nice way, so I’m teaching him that he can’t speak to me the way he tries to. But most of the time he was perfectly sweet, and I think I did a good job of handling him and teaching him, plus enjoying him, this weekend.

As of today, No More Extra Spending. So I decided to treat us both yesterday. We went to a matinee showing of Ratatouille, which was very cute. I also found out something weird. When you go to order matinee tickets online, they charge $6.50 for adults, $5.50 for kids, plus a $1 convenience charge for each. At the theatre, the tickets cost $4 each. I’m so glad I waited until I was at the theatre to get the tickets! After the movie, we ate McDonalds (yeah, that’ll be my last time there for a while. Whatever made me think I’d be able to eat a quarter pounder with cheese?), and then came home, watched DVDs and crashed.

Today I took Aidan to Goodale Park and used the lens that Richard gave me. Good times.

See?
