Wedding Stuff & Honeymoon Registry (Picture)

Today, Adam and I went and got our marriage license. It was surprisingly hassle-free. There was no line, and we didn’t have to swear we weren’t drunk or there against our will. He did ask if we were related, though. Because we TOTALLY look it.

Adam & Me

Bwah.

So, the details consist of this:

Ronni & Adam’s “Elopement”
Date: July 27, 2008
Time: 10:30am
Location: Edgewater Beach (rain or shine!)

If you want a ride, Adam’s planning something with the Weird Chicago bus. Will probably meet at the Rock & Roll McDonald’s at 10am or so and head down from there. I’ll get clearer details on that soon.

Afterward, us newlyweds are heading to a cafe or some such to eat (probably one of the Nookies). If you want to tag along, feel free. 🙂

In the meantime, I need to do the following:
– get a new dress
– get new flip-flops
– get a new outfit for Aidan
– get a new outfit for Adam
– get a wedding band for Adam

I suppose I am allowed to treat myself to a mani/pedi (well, at least a pedi) for this, huh? 🙂 (I already know how I want to wear my hair.)

Ivy’s and Kelly’s flights are booked, Adam’s parents and sister are all confirmed. Still need to call my parents. Anyone else coming? Let me know in the comments or through e-mail.

Also, FYI, the Disney honeymoon registry is up. Disney’s site isn’t the most stable, so if it errs, try it again. Anyway, here’s the url:

Disney Honeymoon Registry

And you can search for Adam Selzer or Ronni Davis, July 2008. ºOº

I can’t think of anything else for now, but once I do, I’ll let you know. See ya!

P.S. 86 days ’til Disney World!

Change of Plans! (Wedding)

So, OK. Adam and I were supposed to originally get married on November 1, at this gorgeous little Irish Bistro. Except neither of us were really into the planning. At all. I mean, I haven’t done a THING in months. The thought of doing stuff made me panic and I preferred to sweep it all under the rug.

We have scrapped the original plans. Instead, we’re going to do a fly-by-night ceremony on one of the beaches. Anyone who wants to just needs to be in a location [to be determined] to hitch a ride on the Weird Chicago bus on July 27, 2008. The time is to be determined, but rest assured that we will post real details before long.

So, wish us good weather and good luck. It should be a good time!

Pimpage

My lovely and talented friend Kelly P (who I’ve mentioned on Live Journal in the past) has started a photography business. She’s coming out to Chicago to do my wedding in November, and I am very excited. She has a way of capturing the true essence of people. Check out her site and her wonderful work here: http://kellyheasleyphotography.com

299 (Pictures)

Okay, so 299 is still a pretty big number, but when I checked the counter today and it said 299 days until your wedding, I panicked. Just a little. Not because I don’t want to marry Adam, but because of all the PLANNING I have not done recently. So what did I do? I hopped over to theknot.com to check on the planner. Now I am down to 168 things I need to do. Most of it needs to wait until I get some extra cash. And I have not tried on one dress yet. For some reason, the wedding still seemed so far away, but seeing that first number go from a 3 to a 2 is kind of showing me that time is indeed moving. Pretty soon, serious planning will have to take place. I have no idea what that means, but eeek.

Piggy Back! Adam hung out with Aidan over the holidays, and that was a really fun, special time. All Adam had to do was play Alpha Butt for Aidan to warm up to him, but Aidan had been warm to him anyway, and he gave Adam a hug the second he walked in the door. They played together very well, and Adam has a gentle way with Aidan that even I can’t master completely. I don’t know if it still kind of makes Adam nervous, the prospect of being a step-father, but I think he’s going to be a great one. It helps that Aidan’s such a great kid. :)

So, on the one hand, it seems like AGES and AGES until the wedding. I’m ready to settle into life with Adam. I’m ready to not be alone all the time. I mean, it can’t be healthy, how much I like being by myself. I often forget how nice it is to have someone around just to make random observations with, watch TV with, or to even bring me a cup of tea.

But on the other hand, in terms of planning, it seems like it’ll be here in a flash, and I’m not doing a damn thing about it. Eloping sometimes sounds like such a great idea, but I’m not selfish enough to do that, not when there are two families plus lots of friends who want to be there for when Adam and I tie the knot.

So, I shall prevail in the planning. Whenever I actually resume planning. Which will be soon… I think. ;)
