I am spoiled. And that makes me happy.
Yesterday, I stayed a little bit late at work to get a few passarounds done before the weekend. We have a LOT of pages due Monday and I wanted to make sort of a dent in them. The thing about this job is that I didn’t mind staying late. I had my music going in my ears, I was comfortable, and it was OK.
I got home yesterday evening, and Adam said to me, “tomorrow, we’re going to get you an iPhone.” I knew he’d wanted to do it for a while, but I wasn’t expecting it until next month at the earliest. And I was OK with that. He said that it was to celebrate my having such a great first week at Schawk! I’d been wanting a smartphone for a while–I keep all my contacts and appointments electronic for the most part (although I do have a paper planner as well that goes wherever I go)–he must have figured it was time.
This morning, I woke up around 10 and Adam said “we’ll go get the phone whenever you’re ready.” At about 11, we were out the door into the icky weather.
I wasn’t sure what to expect–I knew there had been a crazy demand for them a few months ago, so I wasn’t even sure they’d be in stock. But they had them in stock, and I got my very own iPhone today. I’m so excited about it, and I’ve been having a blast with it.
Any suggestions for any cool apps to download?
Also….
A year ago today, Adam proposed to me. I officially announced it on September 15th. I randomly remembered that when we were on the bus to the AT&T store, and I poked him and told him. He said the iPhone could also be an “anniversary of our engagement” gift. I think we should go to Margie’s Candies soon to celebrate.
P.S. Only 8 days til Disney World!!!!!
