Thankful Thursday (Picture)

Some people do these neat Thankful Thursday posts. I can’t promise I’ll remember EVERY Thursday, but I’ll do them when I can. 🙂

Today, I am thankful for:

1. Aidan, the best little boy in the world!
2. Pink cat carriers!
Lucy's New Carrier
3. The anticipation of living in Chicago!
4. Sunshine (even though it’s supposed to turn yucky and wintry again tonight and tomorrow )
5. Rediscovering great music from back in the day. (When I say “back in the day, I mean the 1990s.)
6. I am currently wearing a girl’s size 14 jeans. That makes me happy.

P.S. LJ is not mailing my comments to me. Anyone else having this problem?

Happy Things

– Being in Chicago with my man. ♥
– Two boxes of Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookies in front of me, and eating a cookie for brunch. Yum.
– Lots of episodes of America’s Next Top Model in the DVR for me, recorded by my awesome finacé. (I always want to say “tape” because I’m from the generation of VCRs)
– Portillos for dinner tonight. Yummmmmm. I cannot wait to get a big ole burger.
– Major plans in the works. Details soon. Lots to do in the meantime.

Positivity

– The check engine light going off in my car (I’m pretty sure it was on because the gas cap was too loose again).
– Only one week ’til I see adamselzer again. I haven’t seen him since September 17th. That’s TOO DAMN LONG.
– Six straight days of no ZB next week.
– Thanksgiving/Thanksmas/family time, fun.
– Finding out which broadcast channel Gossip Girls and America’s Next Top Model come on.
– Going to NEW YORK CITY next month, thanks to my awesome fiancé!!!

I’ve never been to NYC. I’m very excited. And excited to get to spend time with Adam, too.

Goodness

A while ago, Live Journal offered $30 to members to give to a cause of their choice, through donorschoice.org.

I chose to give the $30 from LJ to this proposal:

http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/proposal.html?id=108287

I’m all about literacy, reading, and fluency and anything that can help low-income children succeed. I was excited to learn that as of yesterday, the proposal is fully funded!

I got a really great thank-you note from the teacher, but I can’t take the credit because the money to help them came from LJ.

I want to help more literacy programs, and I want to be able to do it with my money.

Maybe someday.

In the meantime, I’m very happy for this classroom.

…But What Doesn’t Suck

· Solving the mystery of the shorted paycheck;
· Getting a free limited edition Tristan Eaton silkscreen print on metal;
· Rollos from the Rollo Fairy 🙂
· Two new rubber duckies. Now I have a snow ducky, a vampire ducky, a jester ducky, and a ducky holding a heart that says “Be Mine.”
· Temperatures ABOVE freezing! Hallelujah! It’s 39º out there now. HEAT WAVE!
· Finding a free glare-reducing screen for my work computer;
· Heart-shaped chocolates all over the office;
· Only 20 minutes to go! YAY.
