I’m sitting here FREEZING. My hands are like ice blocks, but I am hesitant to turn on the heater because my last gas bill was over $75, and that was with my thermostat being set at 64ΒΊ or 65ΒΊ for most of December. I’m thinking of investing in a space heater, because my electric bill is just over $30. Much more affordable.
Now I just need $20 for a space heater. OR I need to remember to bring the one I use at work home with me on cold evenings. Then I have to remember to take it back to work!
I had a really good weekend. Someone awesome spoiled me rotten, and got to eat at Morone’s, where I haven’t been in years!!! It was as delicious as I remember. Mmm, I love that place. They’re always hiring too, I wonder if I got a job hostessing there a couple nights a week would I get discounts on food? Meh, I’ve heard too many horror stories recently about how restaurant workers are treated; so it’s not likely.
Now I’m craving Morone’s again. Mmmmm.
My Web site host emailed me and told me they changed my password. I’d had the same password for anywhere-is for over six years now, so this new password thing is kind of annoying. It’s longer and more crazy than before. But that’s the thing now, strong passwords. And I’m cool with it. I’m down. Word.
Ivy (swankivy) showed me a Web site that allows one to look up his or her old sites on the internet. I did some searching and came across tons of old layouts I’d done for anywhere-is. And pixels! Clique graphics. Anyone remember the wormie clique? I had a blue one! And anyone remember The Cutie Factory? That site had the best pixels ever. There are still pixel-making sites out there, and I still LOVE collecting them. π
A while ago, I’d posted the Aidan Mega Mix for people to download. I wasn’t sure if people with Macs or whatever could watch it. But I uploaded it to YouTube over the weekend, so behind the cut is a video that I made in late 2005 of Aidan being cute.
I plan to make a new video soon. You guys have to see this kid in action.
He’s been with my mom since the 6th of January, and I miss the little bugger.
Popped into a comic book store over the weekend. The Laughing Ogre. Had to see which Peach Girls I’d missed. I need 5-10, plus the Sae ones. Someday. Someday, perhaps. I also found myself drawn to the Baby-Sitters Club graphic novels. *looks around innocently* Didn’t buy anything, of course, but the place is a block and a half from me. I can walk there any time. If it would ever stop raining.
Actually, it did stop raining. Just in time for the weather to drop to “freeze your nutsack off” temperatures. Still not happy weather for me to walk in. I can’t wait until the late Spring, when the trees have pink blossoms all over them and it’ll be warm enough to walk without a jacket on. But it’s only January.
I have to do dishes. Eventually.
I did drop $8 I really can’t afford on jenlyn_b‘s new book Tattoo. I wanted to get robbiewriter‘s book Better Than Yesterday as well (I’ve heard awesome reviews about it), but I didn’t see it. Not that I had the money for it anyway–I think I’ll try to reserve it at the library, though. π If it’s not there, then WAH. I’ll figure something out.
Who plans to watch American Idol tonight? I MIGHT. We’ll see. It depends on how well Fox will come in on my TV. I do it old school, see. I have rabbit ears. And sometimes the channels aren’t so clear. But that’s all right. Ha.
Moof.
I’m experiencing a letdown right now. After such an awesome weekend, I’m readjusting and having kind of a hard time with it. I’m feeling depressed about my writing (or lack thereof) again. Big things coming up in the next few days that are on my mind. I’m cold. I’m also very tired. Early bedtime is on the agenda for tonight, I think. We’ll see how that goes, though.
I guess I’ll turn the heat on now. I’m freezing THROUGH MY SHOES. That’s bad.
‘Til next time.
P.S. I’m doing one of my favorite things right now. Reserving books at the library. Wooo!

Merry Christmas, for those of you who celebrate it. For those of you who don’t, I hope you enjoyed your day off! And for those of you who had to work, I hope you had a decent and easy day.
My weekend was pretty busy, and I plan to take tomorrow to CRASH. Or maybe get stuff done around here. The place is a mess because I came in, dumped gifts on the floor, and went straight to bed. Finished reading Confessions of a Shopaholic for the millionth time, and tried to doze off. I was lying there, with Lucy curled into a donut on my chest, when my cell phone rang. I didn’t get to it in time, but I did get to talk to the person who called (♥) a bit later.
Yesterday, I drove up to Cleveland, well, actually Aurora, with Aidan in tow, to visit my mom. Andy (crimsonghost_oh) came over and hung out for a bit. It’s always good to see him, plus he was wearing cologne that smelled really good. But he has no idea what the name of it is–his friend Joyce buys it for him. Ha. Boys.
I learned something about being on the road. First of all, minivans tend to drive like assholes when in the city, but man, on road trips, those things FLY! I tend to always find myself doing the “stalk” to a minivan. The stalk is when I pretty much follow someone who is going 85-90MPH. That way, I can go 80-85MPH, knowing that if they see a cop, they’ll brake, thus giving me enough warning to brake as well. But here’s the weird thing. I did not see ONE cop on the road on the trip to and back from up north! And I made great time, alternating between Newsies and Christmas music on both drives.
Aidan was very cute, opening his gifts this morning. Everything got an exclamation such as, “Ohh, flash cards!!!” “Ooh, Spongebob!” That boy is the cutest little boy I’ve ever seen. He was adorable! And he was just in shock at all the packages for him. “Oooh, thank you! It’s what I’ve always wanted!”
I guess it’s time for me to do the requisite haul list, huh? Let’s see if I can remember everything:
From my mom:
Vacuum cleaner
Vacuum bags
Towels
Colander
Basket filled with beautifying goodies
Fleece throw
Cute little pink hangers
A sign that says “I only have a kitchen because it came with my house.”
From Chris & Aidan:
Longaberger stuff like whoa
Gift card to Payless
A Christmas village
Scrapbooking kit
From Josh & Kelly:
Bath & Body Works shower gel, lotion, and bar soap
From Mom & Dad Davis:
Entire bag of 3 Musketeers minis (!!)
Mickey Mouse slipper socks
Gift card to Napster
Cool flexi-pen
Stickers
From Leah (my sister):
That pasta maker thing that they show on infomercials.
And I guess there are more things coming…? YAY!! Even though I’ve hit the big 3-2 (eeek), I still love getting presents. Almost as much as I love giving!
Of course, I have pictures!!
My sister is weird. No. Seriously.
Aidan loves Grandmommy. She loves him, too.
Aidan likes to do things wearing only his underwear. That includes opening gifts.
Darth Aidan. (The kid finally put on some pajamas!)
Aidan and Grandpa play with their Buzz Lightyear toys.
Dinner today, at John & Liz’s. I should have gotten a picture of the homemade apple pie. OMGBBQ it was so good.
And a couple pictures of me…
This was me, Christmas Eve night, before the drugs kicked in. HA.
This is me, this morning. I look a LOT like my sister here.
A couple of quotes:
Aidan: GRANDMOMMY! I’m about to blow up your toilet!
Mommy: What?
Aidan: I’m about to blow up it!!
(Aidan had been having serious poops due to his oatmeal consumption).
Dad Davis: See look, it says ages four and up. And I’m UP!
Just thought that Ivy (swankivy) would like to know that I am OBSESSED with my Newsies soundtrack! It’s so, so good. “Go get ’em cowboy!” Oh, and the pink fuzzy slipper boots, too. π
Aidan’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse did not come in time for Christmas, but he was happy enough with his other gifts that he didn’t miss it. That’s what makes him such a great child. Me? I would have said “Where’s the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse?” LOL. I’ve done it. Except it was “Where’s the Merry-Go-Round stroller?” So I will give it to him Saturday, on his birthday. Provided I get it in time! π Man, kudos to the people working at the Beechwold post office, here. They are so busy, and still, my mail carrier is perfectly nice and pleasant, all the time. He’s a great guy.
Anyway, last but not least, here is a video I took today of Aidan’s TMX Elmo. This thing is insane, people. Hilarious! Enjoy!
See ya! π

My week in a nutshell, maybe.
Monday, Chris got Aidan new pets–five fish to be exact. No names yet, but they’re fun and cute:
Tuesday, I ate dinner at Chris’s moms–fried (Honey Baked) ham and eggs and an English muffin coated with jelly YUMMMY. Later that evening, we had a bunch of friends over for our annual Christmas Thingy, and Chris busted out the chocolate fondue fountain he’d gotten for Christmas from my parents. IT WAS A HIT. I mean, yummy. We had fruit and marshmallows to put in the chocolate, which flowed over the sides in sheets. Heavenly. Check out the video of it in action:
After everyone else left, Craig stayed behind while I configured and customized his brand new laptop. At first, I’d wondered why he didn’t call me to go with him, but his reasons were justified:
1. He was buying Best Buy gift cards.
2. It was spur of the moment.
Fun was had by all on Tuesday, and not only did I score more Best Buy cards, I also got THIS:
Wednesday–I sadly have no recollection! Must not have been important. I’m sure I spent a great deal of time on the computer dorking around, but otherwise, I don’t remember much.
Chris and Aidan went to a hockey game Thursday night. I stayed home and pampered myself with an extra long shower and an early bedtime. It was amazing and DEFINITELY needed. But according to the photos, they both had loads of fun:
Dawn (dawnmalek), if you want to see some actual hockey pictures, click here.
Friday, we celebrated AIDAN’S THIRD BIRTHDAY!!
Can you believe he’s THREE? I can’t. He got loads of gifts, ate cake, and was generally super cute as always.
And guess what? My friend Jenny, whose shower I went to in October, had her baby–she was born the same day as Aidan. Ha. π
What are your plans for New Years? I plan tol be partying at Chad and Christy’s place ’til God knows when. Knowing me, I’ll be wishing I was home pecking away on the computer. As it is, I hope to get in some writing tomorrow and Sunday as well. I’ll be undoubtedly skipping church, heh. OH yeah, the Davis Family Christmas gift exchange happens that day! I must not be hungover, then. π
Monday, I don’t have to go to work WOOHOO! so it’ll be me and Aidan all day. I’m sure we’ll be fine, though. π I hope to get a bit of writing done then as well.
And for good measure, one more video. This one is of one of the cool ornaments I bought this year:
Okay, I’m outta here. I’m cold, kind of hungry, and my laptop hasn’t been plugged in for quite a while which means it’s about to go out or already has. Good night/morning! π π π
