disney world

:) Again!

Had another fun day at Disneyworld! πŸ˜€

We started off the morning in Magic Kingdom. We got there just as it was opening, so there was a huge to-do going on with Mickey and all sorts of people. Then we got inside. Aidan and I went to The Crystal Palace to check in while Chris rented a stroller. Then we had breakfast. It was so cool. Piglet was kind of standing around, Eeyore was taking forever to move from table to table. Our server said “Tigger and Pooh will be here in a couple of minutes.” Then, while I was eating, someone came and kissed me on my head! It was Tigger! πŸ˜€ He’s such a flirt. Lots of cool pictures from meeting those guys. They all have their own little quirks. Tigger flirts, Pooh likes to hold your hand, Eeyore pats your back, and Piglet hugs. πŸ™‚

After breakfast, we walked around the park. Rode the Aladdin carpet ride thingy. Why did no one warn me about the “spitting” camels? It got me good!

After, that, we were deciding between Pirates of the Caribbean and some Jungle Cruise when we saw Chip & Dale! Of course, we had to meet them. Then we rode Pirates–ugh. I didn’t care for it and it scared poor little Aidan! The Jungle thing was fun. Lots and lots of corny jokes, but cute just the same. Then as we were headed towards Adventureland, we met Captain Hook, and saw Peter Pan and Wendy dance by! πŸ˜€

I got to ride Big Thunder Mountain RR (MY FAVORITE!) and Chris rode after me. We did some sort of switch off thing where I waited in line first with a “fast pass” ticket. When I was done, I gave Chris the ticket and he went through the Fast Pass line and got right on. Awesome.

It was evident that Aidan and I were in need of a nap by now, so we headed to the front of the park. OMG, in that Times Square? There were so many characters. I had no idea who to go to. I ended up choosing Goofy and Snow White. Snow White was so sweet, and my first “person” character. She was beautiful and so nice! πŸ™‚

We took the monorail to Epcot, then a bus back to the hotel. There, I took a nap while Chris and Aidan played in the pool. Then they came up and we headed to Epcot. I LOVE Epcot. Rode Universe of Energy, Spaceship Earth, then ate before heading back to World Showcase. Just as we got to Mexico, Chris looked down and realized that Aidan had puked. πŸ™ And we didn’t have a change of clothes! So began the mad dash all over the park trying to find a store that sold toddler sized clothes. For BOYS!

We got him dressed and then headed back to Mexico. Rode their cruise, smelled the restaurant (OMG, the mere thought of how good it smelled is making me hungry!), and then headed to Norway for Maelstrom!! That ride is wicked cool. After Maelstrom, we took pictures, then waited for fireworks. πŸ˜€ Aidan got his head stuck in the railings not once, but THREE TIMES. You’d think he’d learn after the first time. When he went to do it again, I told him I was going to take a picture to show to his future girlfriend(s).

After fireworks, Aidan and I piled into his stroller and Chris pushed up to the exit. πŸ™‚ Now I know what it’s like to be Aidan. It was so weird. We caught the monorail to Magic Kingdom to see the Main Street Electrical Parade. Actually, it has a new name now. Spectral Magic or something like that, I think. (Sorry, I’m too tired to go and get the guide to look it up!). WOW. SOO COOL!! I so totally want to be one of those parade characters. They make it look so much fun. We had prime seats, too. Can’t wait to show you pictures!

It was a good day. Except for Aidan getting sick, and then Chris passing out twice on his way back to the hotel room. He got sick too, and I think it was the mac & cheese. A word of caution for those who may visit in the future:

DO NOT EAT AT THE ELECTRIC UMBRELLA IN EPCOT!

That place is gross and we think it’s what made Chris and Aidan sick.

The longest wait for a ride today was fifteen minutes. We just walked right on to most of them. I heard that it’s even more dead on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I’m excited about that! Test Track, here I come! πŸ˜€ Some of the character lines were really long, but most of them moved very quickly. I didn’t get to meet Minnie, but I saw her! Mickey–saw him from afar. I’m being teased again! πŸ˜€

But I’ll definitely get to see him tomorrow. Yay for Character Dining.

What I Bought Today:
– Mickey Mouse Club fleece throw
– Magic Kingdom Monopoly keychain
– Haunted Mansion Clue keychain

What I Want to Buy Eventually:
– Disneyworld photo collage
– Mickey Mouse Club Barbie doll
– More cool pins (I bought two yesterday)

Sunday’s Plan
– Tarzan Rocks (Animal Kingdom)
– The Lion King (Animal Kingdom)
– Lunch at Pizzafari (?)

– Epcot!
– Dinner at THE GARDEN GRILL! (Yeah, my favorite place here!!!!)
– ???

I’ll try to get some pictures up soon. I’m too tired now to bother with it. Plus I’m on dial-up. Mmyeah, about that. Heehee.

I’m having a wonderful time so far. Hopefully Chris and Aidan will take it easy at some point. Those two were going hardcore today, no wonder they got sick. Actually, I think it was the mac & cheese. I only had a tiny bit. I also didn’t spend an hour in the straight sun (Chris is pretty red)! Meep. I’ll try to update again!

Byeeee!

FUN FIRST DAY! :) (Pictures)

We got to Orlando about 2:30pm. Flew on a tiny little jet called a Delta Connect. It was cool. We got to the hotel around 3:15 or so. We didn’t get to our room until after 4. Check-in took FOREVER, and by now I was getting antsy!

We didn’t get to the park until way after 5, maybe even nearly 6. There were many characters right there at the front. No Mickey, but Baloo was there, and lots of guys from Robin Hood. Then we saw Cinderellabration–that was really neat because all the princes and princesses were there. Jasmine and Aladdin, Belle and The (former) Beast, etc. SO NEAT! πŸ˜€ And the castle is beautiful, all done up to celebrate 50 years of something. πŸ˜‰ See?

Yummy cheap food for dinner. Then we hit the rides. There were hardly any lines! We walked on most rides, and got to ride Snow White’s Scary Adventures, Cinderella’s Golden Carousel, it’s a small world (can you believe we just walked on that one??!??!), Dumbo the Flying Elephant, the Mad Tea Party, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (this was wicked cool!). We also got to see Mickey’s Philharmagic. Okay, Mickey’s Philharmagic was so cool. It was a 3D show and Disney’s 3D shows are no joke! I mean, you experience it all. For example, if you see that they’re going to toss a bucket of water towards the audience, you will get wet. And during one scene, they were showing food and we could smell it. Fantastic. πŸ˜€ Plus, since it was the evening, the weather was pleasantly warm with a light breeze, and the sky was perfectly clear and beautiful.

Me on the Mad Tea Party

(You can see Aidan in my glasses!)

Amazing fireworks show (I took video of the finale, let me know if you’re interested in seeing it!), a snack of ice cream, and now I’m back in the hotel room. No high speed internet, so I won’t be posting a whole lot of pictures until I get back home.

Aidan had a blast. He was big-eyed most of the time, and smiling and having a great time. πŸ™‚ It’s so much fun to watch him enjoy himself.

What a great first night at Disney. And I haven’t even been to Epcot yet!

In the morning (later today?) is breakfast with Pooh and the Gang at The Crystal Palace! πŸ˜€ Night!

Disney

I’m still not asleep. Dang it.

So, I was doing some research about the Mickey Mouse statues for a friend. Now I’m kind of depressed. Number one, I will probably not get to see the Mickeys. The last day they are in Chicago is July 20th. I don’t think I’ll get out there before then, and they aren’t coming any closer to Ohio. Then, seeing all those Mickeys really, REALLY made me yearn to go to Disney World again. The first and last time I went was August of 2001. I had so much fun. I mean, a BLAST. Meeting Mickey, eating at the cool restaurants, the SHOPPING! I really want to go back, and soon. But everyone says to wait until Aidan is about five or so. Otherwise, it won’t be much fun for any of us. *sigh* Well, I’ll get back there someday.
