Saturday

Aidan woke me up this morning at about 9:14, but I’d already been up since 8:35 or so, just lying there, trying to will my bladder not to feel so full, and thinking.

He got up and watched Frosty the Snowman, ate two packs of blueberry oatmeal and played Blues Clues Scavenger Hunt. I cleaned the litter box, put away some stuff, and checked email and ate breakfast.

With Aidan in tow, I headed to the bank to activate my new ATM card and make a deposit in the ATM (Aidan put the envelope in for me, and he had a blast imitating the beeping noise), then we headed to the post office, because I lost my stamps AGAIN and had to buy new ones, and I had to mail my car payment and also send off the friendship journal that verytruly, selfstyled, and I are doing. Now I am in for the day/night, and Aidan’s playing Sesame Street games on the laptop. I got my final component of holiday gifts today, so I can start assembling and wrapping MAYBE. Aidan’s gifts are mixed in–I’d hate to pull out the wrong thing! So we’ll see. Perhaps I should finally do the cards, huh?

Last night, I went to my friend tamirabeth‘s for a party. Her new place is BEAUTIFUL. Oh my gosh. It’s gorgeous!! It’s an old place, big rooms, hardwood floors, moulding. The party was small and Aidan and I had to leave before it picked up (I’m sure it got huge later that evening) because he and I were both getting tired! We had a good time, though. Kim was there and it was nice to hang out and catch up and talk in depth about bowel movements and farting. It was a good night. πŸ™‚

Here’s hoping for a good rest of my Saturday!

Sigh of Relief!!

Seriously. It’s so strange how things work out. But I’ll be okay, financially. And I was able to get gifts for people.

I am very fortunate.

Amen.

Today was cool!

Firstly, it was payday. YAY!

Then, The Siebert Elementary 4th grade chorus came and sang at my work today. THEY WERE SO ADORABLE! And they sang original songs, and looked like they were having a blast. I got a little choked up, imagining Aidan standing in front of a crowd singing holiday songs. It’s coming up sooner than I think.

After work, I went to Discount Tire to see about getting a real tire back on my car. I went inside, and stood in line for about thirty seconds before I came across a sign that said “free repair or replacement.” And I thought “Wait a minute. I was here two years ago, and I remember that. I’m going out to my car to see if I still have the paperwork.” I DID! And I had a certificate for a free replacement. So I got a new tire for FREE! WHEE!!!!

And guess what I found at Target for Aidan! A TMX Tickle Me Elmo. I grabbed it and my mom is going to pay me back for it, because she wants it to be a gift from her. There were about five there, and I put one in my cart, and a lady came along and took two (the customer limit) while I was standing there talking to Mommy (on my cell phone)! I was SHOCKED to see it there and thought “I’d better get it now because who knows if I’ll come across another one?” And I think Aidan will LOVE it. Absolutely LOVE it.

So now I am DONE officially, with my holiday shopping. Now it’s wrapping time, and Christmas card time. But tonight, it’s bed time.

Later!

It Was A +/- Kinda Day

– flat tire
– being an hour late to work because of flat tire
– $$ issues πŸ™

+
+ talking to tamera
+ phone call from adam
+ coming home and turning on the christmas tree lights
+ cuddling with lucy (who is currently staring at her reflection in the TV)
+ reading laura ingalls wilder’s books
+ the fact that this list is longer than the “-” list. πŸ™‚

I haven’t done one Christmas/holiday card yet. Oops. They’re sitting here, and waiting. Not sure why I’m holding on–probably because it’s something fun, so I want to prolong the anticipation. And also, I’m not entirely sure I have all my addresses. Eek.

Spam Report: Now I’m getting lots of eBay tips for Dummies emails. I haven’t open a one–they go straight to my spam folder. But I like to check the folder to make sure that nothing important goes there by mistake. It’s happened. Now there are 54 pieces of spam mail. This, over the course of two days, as I emptied it out on Monday. I want to see how high the number will go!

Tomorrow, I have to go to the tire place and pray they can patch my old one. I knew something was odd because my steering wheel wouldn’t sit straight for the past few days. When I left this morning, driving felt WEIRD, so I pulled into the BP. And there it was. A nice, flat tire. πŸ™ It was COLD out, too. I called Roadside Assistance, and waited inside the BP for them to come. Even if I knew how to change a tire, I probably wouldn’t have in 20-degree weather. Who knows? But tomorrow, I’ll head out to Discount Tire and get Little Ronica all fixed up. She also needs an oil change. I need to clean her out, too. Give her a good vacuuming. Aidan found the trash bag and dumped everything out. Nice. There are crumbs and stupid things all over the backseat and front seat too. Plus the glove compartment is full of who knows what.

Oh well. One of these days. Heh.

Now, I’m sleepy. On my own accord. This is good. Night!

Slighty Drugged, But That’s Okay

Took a Tylenol PM to get me relaxed so I’d fall asleep tonight, and not lie awake worrying and stuff like that.

Just over 19 days until Christmas. Man, I can’t believe I’m counting down. What a dork I am.

Watched some of Newsies today. I used to have such a crush on Aaron Lohr (who played Mush). He’s grown up to be pretty hot still, but the thing is–he looks like how Aidan might look in 12 years, and that’s just creepy. Needless to say, my crush on Aaron Lohr is now gone, but it is SO MUCH FUN to sing and dance to the musical numbers in that movie. I love King of New York and Seize the Day.

Work is getting busy, finally. Handwriting stuff piles up quickly, plus I’m helping J with her leveled readers. I get to do one on Hull House soon! Hull House is the scariest point on the ghost tour in Chicago, so I am very interested in doing the leveled reader on that. In addition, I will be writing the style guide for the English-Language Learner teacher pages for Handwriting. Me, writing a style guide!! I am nervous–I’ve never written one before, and this will be for REAL BOOKS that teachers will use, so yes, I’m a little bit nervous, but excited to take on the challenge. Eeee!

Read about Leukemia in the leveled reader I worked on today. There was a picture of the sweetest little red-head boy. He looked so … resigned. He had curly hair, soft, big curls, and this beautiful little face. He reminded me so much of Aidan, and I just started praying and thanking God that Aidan was healthy and didn’t have to suffer like that adorable little boy. I pray that Aidan will ALWAYS be healthy. My heart broke for that sweet child.

Anyway…OH MY GOD??!? Adam Brody is back on the market?? HOT DAMN!!!! But wow, three years. And they still have to work together! Awkward, much??! Well, maybe not. If they’re still friends, it could be fine.

I’m hungry. I had a VERY small dinner and I should probably eat something else, but it’s so late already. Plus, I don’t even know what I want, besides things that’ll take HOURS to cook. I’m just not feeling that patient.

I must clean tomorrow. Dishes, Lucy’s litter box, take out the trash. Yippee.

Drivers in Columbus. Especially as you near the suburbs. DRIVE, DAMMIT! That’s what I yell at them in my car! Everyone is so overly cautious here, and it doesn’t even make a difference because they still get into 328947389 accidents! I can’t believe I live in a city where so many people insist on driving at least 5 MPH below the speed limit. Usually, it’s 10 or so. Yesterday evening, I ended up behind a yahoo who was going 35 in a 50, nothing in front of him/her, and the person STILL kept braking every few hundred or so feet. What the hell?? I finally got around that person. There was NO REASON for this person to be driving that slowly, except to aggravate ME. That HAS to be it.

And… I keep getting stuck behind the slow pokes when I am on the freeway, and when I am in positions where I can’t change lanes. For example, the lane to pass is chock full of cars, or even more common, I need to be in the lane I’m in because my exit is coming up and there is a good chance that I’d miss it while trying to pass the slow pokes.

Oh well. C’est la vie, I suppose. Ooh, Bon Vie sounds yummy right now…. okay, just about anything involving chicken and/or rice and/or green beans sounds good right about now. But nah, too late.

You know what? I have some amazing friends. Just thought I’d mention that. That way, I can remember it too.

Bedtime for me. Ciao! πŸ™‚
