I’m tired. I need a full day where I don’t have to do anything but read and sleep. I really should not allow myself to indulge in such a day until all my chores are done, but meh. I also should not be blogging at 1am but there you go.
Christmas is 46 freaking days away. Time is FLYING. I have all of these “to do” items that i put in my iProcrastinate in early/middle October. When it’s the middle of October, November due dates seem far away. Well, now all that stuff is coming due now and I’m kinda like WHOA. WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN? In fact, two of my items are past due. FAIL.
I started Christmas shopping in earnest Monday. I was out with my friend Angelo, and we hit Bloomingdales, Filene’s Basement, and many other assorted stores along Michigan Avenue. I was able to knock out a good chunk of my shopping for Adam. Go me! I also let Angelo treat me to a white chocolate raspberry mocha from Starbucks. I very rarely indulge in Starbucks, and I get this particular coffee drink once or twice a year. It was yummy.
Adam and I went out to the ‘burbs yesterday. I found the most awesome store at the Westfield Fox Valley mall. It’s called Funk-E-Breeze and it’s the store that Hot Topic and Spencer Gifts WISH they could be. I wanted just about everything in there, but I settled on buying lots of incense. Because mmm, incense.
We hit Anderson’s Bookshop, the best bookstore in the whole wide world. Seriously, you should be jealous of that bookstore because it is *just that awesome*. This bookstore gets folks like Tyra Banks, Weird Al, and Jodi Piccoult. And they *hand sell* books. They listen to what you like and suggest books that are similar. Awesome. Anyway, Adam’s an author, and he went to Anderson’s to sign stock. How cool is that? But you know what’s even cooler?
EXTRAORDINARY is an epic tale of love, magic,
mystery, musical theatre, and unicorn poop.
UNICORN POOP people!
You know you want to read it.
Honestly, it’s my favorite one by him thus far.
Check out the entry post here.
Adam also writes under the pen name S.J. Adams.
(I think Adam thinks S.J. is real. Seriously. I get concerned.)
SPARKS is a John Hughes-esque novel about a
Full House-obsessed girl
who attempts to get over a crush
by embarking on a “holy quest” with
a couple of misfits who have invented a religion.
Check out the entry post for this book here!
Yay! And that’s all for now. Til next time!
First of all, someone who procrastinates, should not be using an app called iProcrastinate. You should be usin an app called iGetThingsDone. LOL. I don’t think it exists, but it should.
1am is the perfect time to blog. That’s much better than the 3am blogging that I do. 1am gives you more time to sleep.
Kudos on your Christmas shopping and thanks for the remind that it is only 46 days away. Wow. I only have to buy for my mom, and I just figured out her gift last night. Yippee.
I hope you get that much needed rest.
I slept in til 1pm today, so I'd say I got that rest. iProcrastinate is actually a really good app. It puts these annoying numbers up for the things you have due. I do them so I can get rid of the numbers. What I wish it did, though, was give you a warning that a due date is upcoming. Right now, I can forget about stuff until the actual due date, and that's when I go CRAP.
I've been guilty of 3am blogging. Night owl in the house! Woo!
Thanks for visiting!

Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday on my SITS day Ronni! I'm up for talking about natural hair any day. I'm actually going to do a hair update soon cause since I have hit the one year transitioning mark I haven't really done any updates.
You're very welcome! I enjoyed reading your blog and seeing all your lovely pics! I'm looking forward to your hair update. I transitioned as well, and now I'm all natural. My hair is so long now, but it's so curly no one can really tell! π

WOW Ronni, I'm impressed you made a dent in the Christmas shopping dept. That's quite impressive! And you are so right that time is whizzing by and Thanksgiving/ Advent/ Christmas will be here before we can blink! Thanks for joining in with NOBH! So glad to have you link up! Did you know that NOBH has been nominated for the Homeschool Blog Awards in the "Best Family/Group Blog". Well… I only made a dent in Adam's stuff. And a bit of Aidan. I still have a lot more to do. And for Adam's family–we're celebrating on the day after Thanksgiving and we haven't started ANY of that shopping yet. I told him we HAVE to start on Sunday!
I'll go vote right now!

I only wish I had the advantage of sleeping and reading, but unfortunately, my job needs me.
It's good that you've gotten your shopping out of the way. I'm truly not a holiday person so I haven't even started. At least you haven't procrastinated on that! Christmas has arrived quicker than I anticipated. I'm just not ready for it.
I really wanted to read Extraordinary, it looks interesting! I may have to order it.
My recent post ADHD?
Oh, there is still a lot of shopping to go. But I'm glad I at least got started!
You should definitely read Extraordinary. It's hilarious. π

You realize this post has made me go into full-blown panic mode? I had NO IDEA Christmas was coming up so fast!
*deep breaths*
I wanted to be really creative this year with presents. I need that creativity to come…
Time is flying. 45 days now. I'm excited!
Also, I'm interested to see what you come up with if/when the creativity finally hits you!

OK man you got half f your list cracked ut that is friggin awesome. I love to shop but I hate shopping for Xmas presents I mean you can never go wrong with gift cards……right.
Fortunately, Adam's family finally got me their wish lists, so I don't have to resort to only gift cards!
I have a love/hate relationship with shopping. I like going to stores and buying stuff, HATE dealing with other people in the stores. It seems they're ALWAYS in my way no matter what I'm trying to look for. Plus Chicago has a nifty little thing called 10% sales tax. No bueno.

I found your blog via SITS and I agree — late night/early morning blogging is the way to go. It's quiet, everyone's in bed and you can focus on what you really want to say. I too am a monumental procrastinator and I haven't even started to think about Christmas shopping!
