Ugh

It’s bad enough being sick. It’s even worse when both caregivers are sick. It’s extra challenging when both caregivers are sick, but the one being cared for is five and very, very healthy/active/vibrant and full of 9 thousand questions (such as “Mommy, how do they make Sun Chips?”)

All I want right now is a cool bath, a bowl of soup, and a long nap. :O

Way Beyond My Maturity Level

Aidan (randomly from bathtub): All babies want to get bo-uhned. All babies want to get bo-uhned. All babies want to get bo-uhned.

Juno was on here the other night, and he definitely picked up that part, obviously. LOL.

:)

Why today was good:

1. Aidan was excited about riding the train, and he loved it. I have to give him kudos for giving it another shot after he was so scared the first time.

2. I returned that icky pillow to Target, got the $10 credited back on my gift card, then proceeded to spend it right away. Most of the stuff was food or for Aidan.

3. I returned some stuff at Kohl’s, and it was 100% hassle-free. YAY.

4. We went to the library today. I have a HUGE bag of books. I also ran into someone who was raving about Amanda Marrone’s Uninvited. I was proud to tell her that I know Amanda! I also showed her Adam’s book, and she checked it out. YAY for pimping out my peeps. Not only that, but I have a TON of books to read. YAY. I’m so glad that new user five-book limit is all done.

5. Sundaes at Margie’s Candies (the place Adam and I got engaged!). I had one with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and … wait for it… warm chocolate and marshmallow sauce. Food HEAVEN. I should have taken a picture of the sundae, and I should have had Adam take a picture of my face when I got the sundae. Yummy.

Right now, I’m hungry. I could go for some Popeye’s Chicken, or Pie-Eyed Pizza. But I will make spaghetti. Because I can always go for that.

See ya!

Pleasantly Tired (Multimedia)

Hey, folks. How’s it going? I’m OK, just tired. Aidan’s here with me for the summer and the kid asks a billion questions. It can be exhausting. Right now, he and Adam and assembling a complicated-looking Hot Wheels race track thing and it’s so cute to hear them interact!!!

Chris, Matty, and my mom brought Aidan up and spent the weekend in Chicago. They REALLY enjoyed the food, and my mom was thrilled to find her Philosophy stuff (and she bought some for me too)!

We had a good time. They really enjoyed the food, especially the sandwiches from Bari and the Chicago deep dish pizza:

Aidan LOVES playing the Wii, and he kicks all of our butts at bowling. Here is he playing the boxing. It’s hilarious:

This is me getting all dressed for a day of touristy stuff.

Hi!

My mom LOVED Navy Pier, even when Aidan was being a banana at times. I think he just got overstimulated, but he liked riding the train and eating cotton candy.

Randomly, in the middle of typing this post, the power went out for a short while. Adam, Aidan, and I took a walk around the block (thank God it’s warm enough to do that!) and then came in and ate dinner after the power came back on. Now Aidan’s watching Chicken Little. It’s gonna be an early night tonight. Because of the rain and a gutter leak RIGHT ABOVE MY BEDROOM WINDOW (that makes it sound like someone’s banging drumsticks on the pane), I didn’t sleep well at all last night. I also got up early, and I have some intense freelance work to start on tomorrow before Aidan wakes up. *yawn*

G’night, y’all.

YAY and BOO & Other Stuff (Long, Pictures)

Monday was an up and down kind of day.

BOO
– Adam was sick.
– I was feeling really depressed and discouraged about you-know-what.
– Someone broke into my car. Almost a year to the day of it getting broken in last year.
– Now I have to shell out $$ to get the window fixed again. >:(
– I went to Barnes & Noble to use my giftcard to buy THE PATRON SAINT OF BUTTERFLIES and they didn’t have it.

YAY
– I booked a nice work-from-home freelance gig for Tuesday.
– I got a package from zenosidal full of Aidan goodness. There were school pictures, handwriting, progress sheets, a Mother’s Day card made by him (best Mother’s Day gift EVER) and an interview paper about me for Mother’s Day. It said the following:

What is Mom’s name? Ronni
How old is Mom? 43
How tall is Mom? Smaller than Daddy
How much does Mom weigh? 50 lbs.
What is Mom’s favorite food? Everything and spinach
What is Mom’s favorite drink? Fruit punch
What is Mom’s favorite color? Pink
What is Mom’s favorite television show? The Power Puff Girls
What is Mom’s favorite thing to do around the house? Bake
What is Mom’s favorite thing to say? Everything
My mom is the best because… She loves me.

(The last sentence made me cry).

– Adam and I got a package from Adam’s mom and dad that included cool things such as brandy snifters, cheese, and chocolate-covered sunflower seeds.
Adam: They’re trying to turn us into alcoholics!
– There was nothing in the car that interested the thieves, so nothing got taken out of it. Although I can’t imagine why they broke in to begin with. I guess to rifle through the glove compartment. I’m glad to have disappointed them.
– Got new books out of the library. Only 15 more days until I can take out more than five items at a time.
– Adam got me some Garrett Popcorn. OK, I know I know, I normally don’t like popcorn, but this, ladies and gentlemen, is no ordinary popcorn. If *I* am eating it, you know it’s good. I like the CaramelCrisp. Mmm. *pops some in mouth*
– I took a bath with a bath bomb. 🙂
– Gossip Girl. HOLY CRAP!
– This list is longer than the BOO list.

Cut for …. The Weekend with Rosa!
