Flooding

Nationwide has been informed by the Franklin County Emergency Management Authority that there is a possibility that parts of Columbus, including the Downtown area, may flood during the next few days. This is due to the rising waters of the Olentangy and Scioto rivers.

The Delaware dam, in Delaware County, is near capacity. It stands at 945 and maximum is 947.
The dam has begun a controlled release which is designed to alleviate the pressure on the dam without causing floods down stream.
The primary river that will get the water is the Olentangy.
If we get 1″ or more of rain today they will open the dam.
This will cause flooding in the Worthington/Mt. Aire area. They may be seeing flooding as early as this afternoon.
It will take at least 12 hours for the water to get downtown.

Worst case scenario:
The dam breaks under the pressure.
S/W Delaware County will be flooded as well as everything along the Olentangy for several miles.

Even though it’s about a 45 minutes to an hour away from me (depending on traffic), it’s still scary. I know people who live in that vicinity.

This rain is crazy. This weather is crazy. And now we’ll have all this water everywhere and the temperatures are supposed to drastically drop on Saturday.

NOT GOOD.

Bibbley Babbley

Freedom starts tonight. It’s so quiet, save Lucy’s purring and the hum of the computer. And my typing of course.

I checked out “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and the sequel from the library today. I’m already halfway through Sisterhood, and I started reading it not even two hours ago. Good stuff, I love Young Adult fiction.

Had Max & Ermas for a late dinner. I’m regretting it. I’m not feeling so well, I’ve been to the bathroom twice already. Ick. Sometimes, I just get very sensitive like that.

I totally don’t want to go to work tomorrow, but I’d better. Oooo, I should take Monday off. Yes, I think I will. πŸ™‚ Personal Days. Woohoo.

Night.

I GOT IT!

I finally figured it out.

Live Journal comments post five hours ahead of MY time. Now I can have an idea of when people actually posted their comments. So, if I see that someone has posted a comment at 6:31am, I’ll know that person really posted it at 1:31am. πŸ˜€

Finally, there is a method to the madness.
