Happy Stuff!

Ivy is updating her journal, so I thought I’d update mine as well. πŸ™‚ I’ve had a busy two days. I’m not sure when I’ll be able to tend to the 24 emails waiting for me. I have so much stuff to do. Meep. I’m thankful Ivy is a writer as well and can understand my need to get on the computer and just write sometimes. πŸ™‚

Friday morning, the alarm went off. I’d stayed up late the night before, so I was a little bit tired. But I hopped out of bed and got Chris up. We got Aidan and headed to get Ivy! First, we had to get gas. Boring! But we got to the station at 7:40 on the dot, but we didn’t get inside until 7:45 or so because of parking and stuff. So, I walked in and there she was! She was so little and cute, her hair in braids and a big smile on her face. We hugged for a long time, then just started talking and stuff. We got her bags and came home, and showed her around the house. And then we ate breakfast at Bob Evans. Back here, we played on the computer(s) and talked, then we took naps. That was great. I slept for about 3 hours. Ivy slept for 7! She was tired. Then she had dinner and we spent the rest of the evening/night hanging out in the loft talking and playing on the computers.

I had stupid dreams while I slept. Both of them involved a Kelly. The first one involved itskels. She was baking all kinds of yummy goodies and refused to let me eat any! It was torture. She kept saying she needed to sell them in a bake sale or something. The 2nd one involved Kelly P. I dreamed we went to the circus together. But it was a wacked out circus. The seats were like roller coaster seats, and the acts had Olympic gymnasts and stuff. Then, when I woke up, I found out Kelly P had gone to Cedar Point. How weird is that?

Saturday, we went to Amish country with Josh and Kelly D. That was so much fun. I’d never been to this town before. It was full of shops and restaurants. There is so much we saw and so much more we didn’t see! So many cute things to buy. And the Amish people with their horses and buggies. Those horses were awesome. They walked with their heads high and with nice, high steps. And they were pretty.

Saturday night, we went to a party at Chad and Christy’s. That was cool. Food, talking, relaxing, watching “The Empire Strikes Back” and playing that DARN Scrabble computer game. I hate Maven. I really do. Ivy got to meet several of my friends from church which was cool. A lot of people I didn’t expect at the party were there. It was a nice gathering. Some people were outside by the campfire and they smelled like smoke when they came back inside. The smell reminded me of the Crimson Sunrise Retreat I went to in April.

I already have pictures to put up. I have a TON to put up, actually. I’ll try to do some tomorrow. WOOHOO!!

Sunday, the plans to go the the all church service, then a family reunion. Then maybe grocery store, then the production of baked goods. Oh yes. Oh yummy.

Okay then. Night! πŸ™‚

Overwhelmed Pt 2

I *think* I can sort of relax now. Holy cow, it’s already after 11. Closer to midnight, actually. This LJ client updates the time automatically, though, so it’s going to post after midnight.

Thanks to Chris, most of the cleaning got done before I even made it home today. He did the floors, the bathrooms, the kitchen, the vacuuming, the laundry. All I had to do was clean the island, the kitchen table, and the half wall. All three of which I totally did not put effort into at all. So they’re all still kind of messy. I hope Ivy doesn’t mind. I did put effort into the toilets and they look awesome.

I even cleaned out my car. I never understood how people’s cars could get so messy. Until I had one of my own. The things that get strewn around in there! Shoes, socks, water bottles, jackets, books, blankets, Aidan’s toys, hair pieces, trash. Eww. My car also had a bath Tuesday night–it’s first one since May 14th. That’s pretty bad. Next time I’m getting the expensive treatment; the one with the wax and stuff. πŸ˜€

I’m just now realizing how bright headlights are. I had that film of dirt on my back windshield and on my rearview mirror for so long, it was dimming those lights shining into the back of my car. Stupid big trucks trying to bully me into speeding so *I* can be the one to get caught and get a ticket in the construction zone and have to pay DOUBLE the fines. I don’t think so.

Seriously. People drive like nincompoops anymore. I HATE the stretch of I-270 West between SR161 and SR315. It’s scary. Those people are hardcore on that highway, and all the merges. Ugh, and some of the motorists are just plain rude. Not fun at all.

I’m pretty tired, but I have to be up early tomorrow to get Ivy. She gets in at 7:40am. I wonder if she’ll be tired. I’m imagine so.

I still feel like there are a million things to do, but I don’t think there are. Well, there are things to do which involve my being creative. I need to update my photo album desperately. I have so many pictures that I haven’t even downloaded. I want to make a new layout for my domain. I want to answer/deal with all of the emails in my inbox. All 28 of them. Man. That’s crazy.

I have phone calls to return. And I’m so bloody tired. Ack. THANK GOD for vacations.

So yeah. That O.C. special tonight? Nice. Although, I hear them talk about how much they love their jobs and stuff… and I wonder how they got to be so lucky. Of course, I know it’s not all luck. But still. Why do some people get to have jobs they LOVE and others have to do jobs they hate? How is this fair? πŸ™ But, I kept reminding myself not to be jealous of them. Not to compare my life to theirs. God has different plans for me. Unique ones. And I can’t compare myself to them because it’s not fair to me. There are reasons I’m not the famous actress I dreamed of being when I was in high school. Oh, who am I kidding? I still dream of it! The point I’m trying to make is that I need to work on my writing.

I repeat.

I.NEED.TO.WORK.ON.MY.WRITING.

Dang it.

Adam Brody is still hot, though. Heh.

Maxim is a naughty magazine. I mean, it’s almost like Playboy. Except Playboy has better articles. Actually, I wouldn’t know anymore, as I no longer read Playboy. But when I did, I enjoyed the articles. I liked the magazine, but got annoyed by all the nude women in it. I mean, in MY opinion, a lot of it wasn’t very tasteful nudity. I don’t mind tasteful nudity. But some of that–never mind. I don’t even need to go there tonight. Or anytime, actually.

Okay, approxiamately 23947398 people just signed onto AIM. There must be something about that midnight hour….

I have to get to bed. Ivy will be here in fewer than 8 hours and I need my beauty rest. πŸ˜‰ G’night!

It Feels Like Something’s Heatin’ Up, Can I Leave With You?

I’ve officially decided that I love Fisher Price’s Little People. They’re cute, and their DVDs and videos keep Aidan occupied for a nice amount of time. Say all you want about “electronic babysitters,” but I was able to put some laundry in the washer (desperately needed, let me tell you) and get things ready for small group tonight. And when I say “small,” I mean small. I think we’re going to have a tiny turnout tonight. *sniffle* But, looking on the bright side, there will be pizza there, so that’s good. Heh. I was also able to change clothes and now I’m going to go and try to clean the family room before I head out.

So, last night, I got to witness my son have his first kiss with another little girl. I was laughing too hard to be disturbed, but now I am! I mean, I know they’re very young (she was 2) and stuff, but they seemed to REALLY LIKE kissing each other!! Her dad was freaking out: “Abby! Abby, stop it! Abby, stop kissing!”

Random Fact: My hands smell April fresh right now. (I spilled fabric softener on myself).

And wow. Lindsay Lohan can sing!!! I like her more and more.

Okay. I’m just babbling now. Time to get back to work. Later! πŸ™‚
