First thing was that I got a text from my Adam telling me Happy Valentine’s Day. ♥
The work day went pretty quickly, with chocolate chip cookies, M&Ms, and a trip to Yankee Trader, where I found stationery for a penny a package!
I got 12, but the guy only charged me for 10. π
The rubber duckies on my desk celebrated the day and the season:
I wish I’d been photographing the duckies all along, I have tons of them. Ah well, I can continue the tradition NOW, and pick up and continue once I’m settled and employed in Chicago.
And jamz tagged me for a Handwriting meme. YAY Handwriting!!!
1. Your name/username.
2. Left-handed or right-handed?
3. Favourite letters to write?
4. Least favourite letters to write?
5. Write “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”.
6. Tag 6 people.
The manuscript is the Zaner-Bloser style that I became certified to teach some time last year. The cursive as well, but it’s not as nice as the manuscript. That has since turned into my normal manuscript writing.
The second paper, the hybrid, is how I write when I am in a hurry. That’s the writing I use most often, to be honest, as it’s the way I’ve written for years and years and years. π
Other goodness:
It was payday, I got my state tax refund, and I got some errands taken care of as well. Visited with the neighbor’s cat a bit, got to talk to itskels on the phone for a little while, and I got to hang out with Kelly P, whom I haven’t seen in years. It was sooo much fun. It’s always nice to catch up. Last night, I hung out with itskels and her daughter at Max & Erma’s (along with Aidan) and that was awesome as well. She’s got all the pictures, taken with her brand new iPhone (but I ain’t jealous or nothing, heehee), so I’m waiting for her to send them to me. Aidan and Kelle Belle’s little girl got along SO WELL! They were fun to watch, even though they were loud.
Lately, I’ve been blessed to hang out with people who energize me and make me feel happy and optimistic. That’s so amazing and so rare. So Yay.
Yesterday, on the way to work, I lost control of the car due to some black ice, ran up on the curb, and knocked a bus stop sign off kilter. I said the *eff word* a lot while this was going on. π But I managed to get off the curb and drive to work. I checked my car after I got there, and there are only a few scratches and a tiny dent. Whew.
While I was driving in this morning, I heard strange rattling on my car. That scared me, because of what happened yesterday. But it turned out that it was ice melting and wiggling around before falling off the roof. Yesterday, before I even got on the road, I spent 25 minutes scraping ice off of my car. I was freeeezing by the time I was done! I couldn’t believe how thick the ice was, plus my windshield wipers had been frozen and they wouldn’t come loose easily. I do miss having a garage, especially in the winter. Because idling while waiting for the car to warm up KILLS my gas mileage for that tank!
But oh well. C’est la vie. And now, I think I might actually make it to bed BEFORE midnight! Holy hot banana. Tomorrow’s Friday, woo-hoo! π Aidan’s with his grandma this weekend, so that means taking care of a few major tasks, some relaxation, and hopefully some quality literature time.
One tiny vent, then I’ll go. The crazy across the hall. She’s back into having her loud, door-slamming and screaming rages again. UGH. I’ll be glad to get rid of her when I move!
All right, then. Ta ta!
