I Love Aidan! (Pictures)

A I D A N

Today, I did a mini photo shoot. Aidan was eating cookies, and in a good mood, and willing to be photographed. Of course, his mommy is a scrapbooker, so he’s kind of used to it. πŸ™‚

I’ve decided that I have the best little boy in the world. He is a miracle. Everyday I ask God what I did to deserve such a wonderful son.

Aidan is about 32 months old now. He’ll be three soon! He’s such a joy, and he’s so entertaining and smart.

Aidan is already a lady’s man. He can work any crowd at any party (once he gets over his initial reservations). He now speaks in FULL sentences!

“Mommy, get out here!”
“Go away, Daddy.”
“I love you, Mommy.”
“I watch Dora!”
“I need Fruity Pebbles!”
“I burped too!”
“I do it again!”
“Oh, a giant A!!”
“Here you go, Mommy.”
“That’s MaMaw’s water, Mommy.”
“I go in Daddy’s car!”
“Oh, little baby kitty.”

He has amazing curly hair, gigantic gorgeous eyes (of a color which I cannot determine), and the cutest laugh. I LOVE to hear him laugh. I love to hug him and cuddle him. He gives me infinite kisses all day. He pats my cheek when he is sleepy and cuddy.

My heart soars when I go to pick him up after work and I hear him yelling “My mommy! My mommy!” I grab him and cover him with kisses, and he puts his little hand on my cheek. I hold on to him for dear life.

Sometimes he runs from me laughing so I can chase him! And I trick him. He goes around the bend, and I catch him from the other direction. I grab him and cover him with kisses and raspberries, and he laughs and laughs and laughs.

He opens my cell phone, and notes the picture of him that I use for my wallpaper. “That’s me!” he yells, grinning. And I marvel that he knows pronouns already.

Today, I was eating dinner and there was some really weird noise outside. “What is that?” I asked. Aidan came tearing into the kitchen and peeped out the door; a nosy neighbor in the makings. “It’s an airplane,” he said. (It wasn’t, but it was cute that he guessed!)

He has the cutest little expressions and intonations in his voice. He is silly and definitely a clown. He is smiling more often than not, which makes ME smile.

He has a favorite outfit. His Elmo baseball shirt (he insists it’s a basketball shirt) and matching jean shorts. He gets it out of the dirty clothes every single evening and puts it on. “I do it!” he sings. He gets it on and puts the clothes he had been wearing into the laundry basket. “It’s dirty now, Mommy.”

He screams bloody murder when I go to rinse his hair during a bath. “NO MOMMY!!!! NOOOOO!! WAH!!!”

Sometimes he demands privacy when he’s on the potty. “Get out, Mommy.”

He often can’t make up his mind.

Aidan: I need oatmeal.
Me: You need oatmeal?
Aidan: Deh. (his way of saying “yes”).
Me: What kind? Strawberry, blueberry, banana, or peach?”
Aidan: Bawbaywe.
Me: Okay, strawberry oatmeal.
Aidan: NO! I NO OATMEAL!
Me: But you said–
Aidan: NOOO!

Five minutes later…

Aidan: I need oatmeal.

Every morning, I try to sneak a kiss on his cheek. It’s easier if he’s in bed with us; he’s right there. It’s trickier when I try to go into his room. Sometimes the door creeks which causes him to stir. I tip-toe out, wishing I could curl up next to him and hold him and smell his curls. I go to work, turn on my computer, and there he is, the background on my screen, reminding me why I am there. To provide the best I can for my little boy.

He’s grown so much and changed so much–I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t have documentation…

Words can’t even describe how much I adore my little boy. I look at him and I’m amazed that he’s MY son. That I am his mommy and that I helped grow him in a sense. Sometimes I wonder what God was thinking, entrusting me with this precious soul. But then, I can’t imagine him with any other mommy.

He is truly a miracle. πŸ™‚

Thursday

Aidan is taking a bath. He likes to keep the water running for some reason. When I asked him if he wanted a shower instead, he said “No.”

I went to Easton today and guess what! I didn’t buy one thing! I was with megnita who set a boundary. No buying anything unless it was under $5. Wouldn’t you know, it’s the time of year when very little is on sale. I saw a couple of remotely cute things for under $5, and of course, the outfits in Forever 21 and Aeropostale were calling my name, BUT I RESISTED! My heart is on bigger and better things now (like ΒΊOΒΊ!!) and I have to keep my focus. πŸ˜€

I feel proud.

Although, I had to break my “no credit” rule. I was doing a purge of my wallet this morning, and I accidently cut up my debit card instead of the joint account debit card. Luckily I have a new one already, but it wasn’t activated yet. I’d forgotten about this til I went to pay for my and Aidan’s dinner. Out came the Target Visa for that and for gas–but I’m paying those parts off right away so it’s just like I paid cash for it anyway. YAY. Thank goodness for online billpay.

Aidan was good for the most part while I was out, but there were parts when he was a right brat. ARGH. Then, as we were leaving, he got his hand caught in the elevator and screamed. Poor baby. Everyone around us was freaking out. He calmed down after about eight minutes, though and was wanting to push buttons and play. He’s totally back to normal now. There was some minor swelling in his hand, but it’s gone now and he’s drawing so I think he’s gonna be okay. πŸ™‚

He surprised me by eating one of those Cinnabon sticks. The boy normally won’t touch anything “breadlike” (in front of me, anyway), but he ate one and a half of those! They were yummy, so I can see why.

Dinner was yummy. Max & Erma’s. Mmmm. Megan and I shared that fruit and whipped cream thingy. Truthfully, $4.29 or whatever is a little much for such a simple dessert, but it was good just the same.

And last but CERTAINLY not least, I got a package from dwagonfry today!!!! ΒΊOΒΊ It’s awesome! I love it all, Rosa!!!!!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ I’ll definitely hug Aidan for you.

Um, I gotta go. Aidan’s disappeared and I thought I heard the sound of things ripping. Later!

Listen With Your Heart, You Will Understand

It’s getting tricky to discipline Aidan. He’s learned the power of NO and is not afraid to try to use it. I’m trying to stress to him the importance of not making messes, but he does it anyway, so I tell him to clean it up. ‘NO’ he says. ‘It’s NOT a choice,’ I tell him. It’s hard to follow through, especially when I’m tired at the end of the day or whatnot. But I know it’s important to do it now, or it’ll be much harder down the road.

I am NOT trying to have my son on Jerry Springer, okayyyy?

My website is down, which is a bummer. I was uploading cool stuff, and then it quit on me. BOO. I guess tomorrow maybe? I don’t know.

I need to go to bed soon. I’m pretty tired. I haven’t had dinner. Don’t think I’ll be getting any–although I have some leftover spaghetti in the fridge. I might have to bust that out!

*sigh*

My website’s FTP is not stable at all and it’s frustrating me. (It’s up now). They said it’s my ISP, but I never had problems with uploading when I had Hostfinity. But gah, hostfinity was $33.95 a month and Acenet is $8.95 a month. So yeah, ya know? Anyone recommend any cheap companies with lots of storage?

Okay, it’s later still. My son insists on removing his diaper and walking around naked. Except, haha. I know why!! *emergency potty break*

This is so random. My site is working now. Here are three new photoalbums:

Enjoy and please comment! πŸ™‚

Disney album coming soon, I PROMISE! It’s going to be huge! WOOHOO!

I should go.

Goodnight!

:)

This morning, I was sleeping and I was awakened by a big boom (Aidan opening his door) and running into our room. He gave me a big hug and kisses. What a nice way to wake up, huh? He asked for juice. I should have given him milk.

Oh well, next time.

He asked to go to the potty and he pooped AND peepeed! Then he wanted a bath after that. THEN he pretty much washed himself, and then put on his own shirt and gave me lots of hugs and kisses in the process. Now he’s all dressed and drawing letters on some paper.

It’s so weird having him back, but it’s fun too.

Had fun last night as well. Went to Rob’s last night. A bunch of us hung out, ate ice cream, and watched movies. Chris’s VERY COOL cousin came with us. Had a good time for the most part. πŸ™‚

I’m paying for eating the ice cream, though.

Now it’s time for church and then the zoo. WooHoo! πŸ˜€
