There are a million hours in the day for:

– Work
– Sitting in Traffic
– Tending to OTHER PEOPLE
– Errands
– Cleaning…the NEVERENDING cleaning

There is no time for:

– Writing
– Relaxing
– Reading

Why is that? 🙁

I’m going to be tired and probably cranky at work because all I’ll want to do is get home and write. But then I’ll get home and have to tend to Aidan, and then Chris and Aidan.

I stayed home from work to tend to a feverish and coughing little boy and I got nothing written. Now I’m coming down with a sore throat–GREAT. That’s all I need. I’m just annoyed right now. And broke. Wah.

(And Aidan is STILL awake.)

This sucks. I hope I get SOMETHING done this weekend.

Weekend (Pictures)

This evening, I went to feed the fish and noticed all sorts of balls floating at the top of the tank. I FREAKED OUT because I thought they were eggs. Turned out to be food that Chris had dumped in by mistake.

Speaking of fish–not sure if I posted that they had been moved to a ten-gallon tank. 🙂 Two of the zebras had died, so that left three. Yesterday, I got 2 guppies, 2 silver mollys, and a snail. One of the mollys has died already, but Petsmart has a 14-day guarantee, so I’m going to get a replacement tomorrow. I hope they ALL don’t die from overfeeding–but they seem to be ignoring the food now that they’re full.

Last night we celebrated Chris’s grandparent’s 50th anniversary. It was a surprise–they’d thought they were attending someone’s birthday party. 🙂 His grandmother started crying IMMEDIATELY. I snapped this picture mere seconds after she walked into the door:

I was so happy because Sara and Amy were there (cousins by marriage). THEY ARE SO FREAKIN’ HILARIOUS. Here I am with them:

They are such great gals. And they’re hilarious with the kids. I love spending time with them. They are SCANDALOUS!!!! I’ll never forget the ICE MOLD. It was um… very special and very suitable for a bachelorette party if you know what I mean. :O


Here are the kids (minus one) and the happy couple. None of them are standing/posing in a way that makes sense except Chris’s mother. Grandpa is right behind Grandma.

Friday night, I pretty much read, relaxed, and wrote. 🙂 This weekend, I finished reading my fourth novel of 2006: A Total Waste of Makeup. It’s freakin’ hilarious, I LOLed at more than one point in the book. Good stuff. Right now, I am reading S8er Boy by Mari Mancusi. I know her. 🙂 She’s very nice and so far her book is really good. Once I finish S8er Boy, I will be 5% finished with my goal to read 100 new books this year. WOO!! 😀

Today, Holly came over for a bit and Chris tested another wedding cake for her. In case you didn’t know, Holly (who I’ve known since college, and who Chris has known since preschool) is getting married January 28th. I’m photographing the wedding, Chris is doing the cake. His past tests were not so good, but today was very yummy. He’s using fondant and going to accent it with pink. It’s going to be great. I hope my photographs turn out well. I’m a little nervous, but I’m going digital, so I think I’ll do okay. I’m excited, I’m going to get all the best spots for picture taking YEAH!

I watched Mickey Mouse Club: Best of Britney, Justin, & Christina today. There were only four episodes on the DVD. I want them to release DVDs of ALL seaons of MMC. I’d be SO on that, you have no idea. Gosh, just turning the DVD on, hearing that theme music–I felt like I was 18 again.

Tonight was the grove. It’s all new. Very cutting edge. New room, new atmosphere, new format. I like it. 🙂

I got a Disney Catalog that focused on home goods. Oh My God. If I were rich, my house would TOTALLY be done up in all Mickey Mouse. Desks, tables, TV cabinets…you name it. Oh man. Talk about a dream house, huh? Well, instead of the furniture, I pre-ordered Lady and the Tramp.

Alright, I’m ready to read. I’m enjoying tonight because tomorrow I have AIDAN DUTY like whoa. Chris works from 1-10. I am off. I have some errands to run (Comp USA, Petsmart, Meijer), and Aidan and I will have lunch at McDonalds, and I’m MAKING him take a nap with me, dang it. He was a cranker today which drove me insane. I will pull out my hair if he acts that way tomorrow.

BIG UPDATE (Multimedia)

My week in a nutshell, maybe.

Monday, Chris got Aidan new pets–five fish to be exact. No names yet, but they’re fun and cute:


The bowl looks cloudy here but we’ve remedied that problem. 🙂

Tuesday, I ate dinner at Chris’s moms–fried (Honey Baked) ham and eggs and an English muffin coated with jelly YUMMMY. Later that evening, we had a bunch of friends over for our annual Christmas Thingy, and Chris busted out the chocolate fondue fountain he’d gotten for Christmas from my parents. IT WAS A HIT. I mean, yummy. We had fruit and marshmallows to put in the chocolate, which flowed over the sides in sheets. Heavenly. Check out the video of it in action:

After everyone else left, Craig stayed behind while I configured and customized his brand new laptop. At first, I’d wondered why he didn’t call me to go with him, but his reasons were justified:

1. He was buying Best Buy gift cards.
2. It was spur of the moment.

Fun was had by all on Tuesday, and not only did I score more Best Buy cards, I also got THIS:


I mean, WHOA? I am so excited, I’d missed this dang show. **hugs QAF**

Wednesday–I sadly have no recollection! Must not have been important. I’m sure I spent a great deal of time on the computer dorking around, but otherwise, I don’t remember much.

Chris and Aidan went to a hockey game Thursday night. I stayed home and pampered myself with an extra long shower and an early bedtime. It was amazing and DEFINITELY needed. But according to the photos, they both had loads of fun:

Friday, we celebrated AIDAN’S THIRD BIRTHDAY!!


It was an OSU themed party, but I got him Little People stuff, OF COURSE!

Can you believe he’s THREE? I can’t. He got loads of gifts, ate cake, and was generally super cute as always.

And guess what? My friend Jenny, whose shower I went to in October, had her baby–she was born the same day as Aidan. Ha. 🙂

What are your plans for New Years? I plan tol be partying at Chad and Christy’s place ’til God knows when. Knowing me, I’ll be wishing I was home pecking away on the computer. As it is, I hope to get in some writing tomorrow and Sunday as well. I’ll be undoubtedly skipping church, heh. OH yeah, the Davis Family Christmas gift exchange happens that day! I must not be hungover, then. 🙂

Monday, I don’t have to go to work WOOHOO! so it’ll be me and Aidan all day. I’m sure we’ll be fine, though. 🙂 I hope to get a bit of writing done then as well.

Fuki-san!

It’s Christmas Eve 2005. Can’t believe it’s here already. In a few hours, we’ll be heading up to see Aidan and celebrate Christmas with my mommy and stepfather. Then we’ll come back with presents and my little boy. It will be weird, getting back into the swing of things after not having to worry about him for two weeks. I miss him but not the work and I know I say this every time my “vacation” comes to an end.

Bizzy came over and we exchanged gifts. She got me stuffed a Mickey and a stuffed Minnie all dressed up in Christmas outfits. 🙂 They’re on display in my family room. I got her a gift card to Forever 21. Then we ate spaghetti for dinner, watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and a bunch of Food Network/HGTV.

Going back to normal after the holidays will be hard, as it always is. I was spoiled the last week–early release days, parties, presents, treats, food. I hope things will be slow next week, but we’ll see.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love my little Lucy? She’s the sweetest little kitty ever. When I got home from work, I immediately changed into some comfy clothes and climbed into bed. She was right there, cuddling with me and purring. I just love holding her and petting her little head. 🙂

I also love Iron Chef–the original one. I mean, I like Iron Chef America, but it’s not as good as the original–and the American version doesn’t have the guy calling out “Fuki-san!” every thirty seconds or so. Tonight’s battle was lobster. Some of those dishes looked unbelievable and delicious. I don’t even really care for lobster, or any seafood, actually. I do like fried flounder from Red Lobster, and from time to time I enjoy crab legs or cooked shrimp. Oh yeah, and orange roughy, but it has to be fried as well.

Anyway, why am I on the subject of seafood? I once worked at a seafood counter. From that job, I remember:

– Swordfish or tuna steaks marinated in teriyaki sauce = YUM
– Boston Scrod often comes in with worms in it. If the worms are alive, the fish is fresh. If the worms are dead, throw the fish out.
– Scallops stink to high heaven, as does creamed herring.

I got loads of Christmas cards today, and Aidan got a package from Aimzy! I set it on his new Ohio State table and chairs set so he can open it when he comes home. Ooo, my little guy is going to be so spoiled. And the ironic thing? He and I had this conversation a few weeks ago:

Ronni: Do you want Santa Claus to bring you toys for Christmas?
Aidan: No, I already have toys.
R: How about clothes?
A: No, I already have clothes.
R: How about candy?
A: No, I already have candy.
R: How about chicken and french fries?
A: No–mmmhmmm.

HA HA HA. I can’t wait to squeeze him tomorrow today.

99.3% Perfect (Pictures)

For the most part, I am very happy. And the .7% which is getting me down–it’ll heal soon.

Why I’m happy:

1. The presents are all wrapped.
2. The living room is clean.
3. The loft is clean.
4. The Christmas cards are finally all done, and I will mail out the rest of them tomo-er, today.

I had a good weekend. Saturday, I slept in, went to counseling, then met Chris for lunch at O’Charley’s. The food was very yummy–and I have leftovers in the fridge that I should tackle. After lunch, we came home to relax. I can’t remember if we took naps or not–I think I tried but didn’t really succeed. I had a new computer to play with! 🙂 We went over to Craig’s, and out to Damon’s (yum) where we met Bizzy and Kyle, and then we all went to Meijer. Craig, Chris and I stayed until 2:30am. Craig spent a lot of money but knocked out a huge hunk of his Christmas shopping. We were there so late that Craig passed out on the floor:

For some reason I was hyper (probably the night-owl thing going on) and I was up ’til 5am. Still, I managed to get up for church Sunday morning! 🙂 It was a good message, and I had fun sitting with Kim PATCH! After church, Josh S, Craig, Chris, Mr. Matt and I ate at Max & Erma’s. Yummm, but I actually did NOT get my usual there. I did get cookies, though. Their Pick 3 is a great deal.

After lunch, I met up with Amy H at Meijer (yes AGAIN) to help her with her shopping. Then I went to Craig’s and wrapped all his presents for him. Wahoo, good times. I also watched a LOT of E! and Food Network. Can’t go wrong with that, huh? Man, I LOVE the Food Network.

Monday, McGraw-Hill had its company holiday party. It took place at Wedgewood Country Club, and they had an open bar and lots of yummy food. I really had a good time there. The best part is that they let us go at 1:30. How awesome is that? 🙂 I took a nap, which was probably a bad idea seeing as I am wide awake now with a FULL work day ahead of me.

So with that note, I’m going to try to go back to sleep–I’m going to read a bit first. I’d forgotten how much I love Confessions of a Shopaholic.
