Hello, Mr. Laptop II

Aimzy, you are in my prayers times a million. <3

When I got home from work, I checked the answering machine. There was a message from Best Buy telling me that I’d qualified for a new laptop per the service plan I’d purchased. I rushed right back out the door and headed to Best Buy. I ended up getting a Gateway computer that is so much like my old one it’s scary, only this one is a Pentium 4 with a DVD burner and a 6-in-1 media reader. This one also has a much better screen. No complaints.

My old laptop will be trashed. It kind of sucks because there was some music on it that I couldn’t get off, but I’ll be okay. Most of the stuff on there was replaceable, and the most vitals things were burned to CD and transfered to my desktop computer already. Again, can’t complain too much. I have a brand new laptop that’s better than my old one. πŸ™‚ Dude, this one plays Sims 2 really well, YAY!

I’m slowly getting over being sick. I went back to work on Thursday and it really wasn’t bad at all. Thank God for people who take up the slack for me. All I really have to do is a buttload of filing.

My left ear feels like it’s completely stuffed with cotton. I’m not sure how to get rid of that. I’ve tried the holding my nose and blowing trick–no luck. Maybe I’ll just lie on it and hope whatever is in there will pop or something. I feel like I’m a million miles away because I can’t hear that well!

Bizzy, Kyle, and Craig came over tonight/last night. It was fun. Chris made pizza, Craig brought me Reese’s Pieces, and we watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Prince of Egypt. I wanted to watch some Food Network but was voted down, but Golden Girls was seriously considered by almost everyone. I also played The Sims–it had been a while. I start to get frustrated after a while, so I didn’t play for too long, not like I used to.

Overall, I’m feeling okay. I can’t believe Christmas is in eight days. I’m still not completely done shopping yet! There isn’t much more to do, and almost all of the gifts are wrapped. I still have to wrap my stepfather’s gifts and one of my sister’s needs a huge gift bag. Not sure when I’ll do that–I defintely don’t want to do it over the weekend. We’ll see, though.

G’night!

Nothing Much

So, I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a upper respiratory infection. Chris has one, too. We’re on almost 1800 mgs of antibiotics apiece.

I got another gift from Star (selfstyled) today! πŸ™‚ YAY for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants! πŸ˜€ And YAY for Christmas cards.

Boo to bills. Bwah.

Everytime I blow my nose, my right ear gets clogged up.

I read Harry Potter 6 again, and teared up at the end again.

I also talked to Aidan on the phone today. He sounds very happy. πŸ™‚

I am cold.

Back to work tomorrow. Let’s hope I do okay. Lots of stuff was due today–Lord help me as I scramble to make it all up tomorrow.

Almost Back to Normal?

I went to work for 1/2 day today and was convinced I was going to die by 9:45am. I left at 11, drove to Meijer where I got some orange juice, cookie dough, tissues, and I picked up a prescription. On the drive to Meijer, a few things happened:

1. I got unbearably HOT.
2. I couldn’t stop coughing.
3. My nose ran like crazy.
4. I became ravenously hungry.

The cold/flu whatever was breaking.

I finished in Meijer and went to Max & Erma’s and got my favorite meal for take out (BBQ Bacon Cheddar burger and Fries), came home, gobbled it up, downed two cups of OJ, and settled down to read and doze. Now I am feeling pretty close to normal save for the stuffy nose and clogged head, but at least I can breathe, sit up, and type without feeling like I’m going to pass out.

YAY for feeling better!

Now off to a quick shower and I’m heading downstairs to finish my Christmas cards and drink more orange juice. Tomorrow I’m going to the doctor just to make sure I’m okay, and to get my prescription reinstated. Thursday, I should be good as new for work. Yippee. πŸ˜€ It’ll be nice to live normally again. I’m really grateful that a couple of people at work were cool enough to help take up a lot of the slack for me–it really really took a load off. πŸ™‚

‘Til next time…

**Cough Cough**

So, I’ve been sick like whoa and that pretty much shot my weekend to H-E-Double Hockey Sticks. Aidan is off to stay with his grandmother for two weeks. Before he left, he hugged and kissed me a million times and said “I’ll be back soon, Mommy.”

I slept most of yesterday. I honestly felt so horrible. There was so much I wanted to do: start wrapping presents, clean, go hang out with Rob (who was making steaks and mashed potatoes!)… but I could barely sit up without feeling dizzy and weak. So back to bed I went, and I stayed asleep until about 11:30am. I got up, bathed, and went to Best Buy. Mr. Laptop is gone until about January 5th! They’re going to try to fix it all up, though, so that will be good.

I also stopped in at Taylor Square, finished up most of my Christmas shopping (yay, all done itskels), picked up a few lots more decorations. Then I came home and rested a bit.

Holly and Robert came over about 3. I’d forgotten they were supposed to come over so I could fix their computer. It was majorly infected–lots of spyware and viruses. I cleaned it off the best I could, and their pop-up frequency went from an insane amount to none. So yay for me. πŸ™‚

We ate and Holly helped me with some of the decorations. Now I’m feeling LOADS better (thank God) but will be turning in early so I can get through a full workday tomorrow. I’m still coughing a lot–so I won’t be surprised if they send me home again. I can’t smell a thing, I can’t taste a thing either. My nose is permanently stuffy. And did I mention the coughing? Yeah, it’s pretty much relentless. :

Anyway, I hope I feel better really soon, I have lots to do:

– Pay cable bill
– Buy stamps
– Mail 2nd round of Christmas cards
– Wrap presents
– Clean master bedroom
– Clean my closet
– Put away laundry
– Mail packages

**sigh** So much to do. Being sick really, really throws a monkey wrench in one’s productivity. At least I got to finish another book, though.

G’night.

Another Potluck Entry

Today was a great day. Well, I was really late to church, but I didn’t miss most of the message, and there was communion. Yay. After church, I caught up with a bunch of folks, and Nikki and I ended up at Tina and Theresa’s to help put up their Christmas tree! YAY. We all picked up lunch and ate it there (I got Max & Erma’s–I crave a BBQ bacon burger at least once a week), and then got to work. Check it out!

Afterwards, we went to Meijer where I did a bit more Christmas shopping, and Theresa got a few ornaments, a topper, and a tree skirt. We hung out at their place a while longer, then I finally came home. πŸ˜€

This entry is mostly full of happiness, but I do need to rant.

WHY IS IT that 99% of the time I get on the road, I end up behind someone who INSISTS on going at least 8 MPH below the speed limit? I mean, the sign clearly says 45 and the person in front of me (in a ‘no passing’ zone) goes 37. Sometimes, they’ll go past a sign that’ll say 50, and if they were going 45 before, they drop down to 35. What is up with that? It drives me crazy. I feel like they do it just because they can, and that’s just mean.

But anyway….

Harry Connick Jr. Christmas CDs. Amazing.

And digressing….

I feel amazingly happy. I like it. πŸ˜€
