Friday 5 (2)

At what age did you realize you are no longer young? Alternate question: At what age do you think you will no longer be young?
I still feel fairly young, but every day it’s hitting me that I’m getting older. I’m finding grey hairs, and my body is changing. I don’t think I like it much.

What was the longest line you ever had to stand in?
I stood in line for six hours to get the iPhone 4 last June. I will never do that again, but I’m glad I did it once. The free lunch provided by the Apple Store helped a lot!

In what way are you especially strong?
I don’t know.

Who was the last person to inform you that you were wrong?
Probably Beth at work.

When did you last have to bid someone so long?
When Aidan went back to Columbus last Monday. *sniffle* But he’ll be back before long. 🙂

April Showers and Stuff

Actually, the weather was AWESOME today! It is currently 72F outside. That rules. Of course, this isn’t sticking around or anything, but it looks like it’s going to not drop below 50 (except at night) for the rest of the week. Could Spring ACTUALLY be coming? Maybe the trees will actually start budding sometime soon. Last year I took pictures of tree blossoms on April 13th. So, ten days. My eyes are aching to see flowers that aren’t in a vase or a floral shop. And I can’t wait for the lilacs to blossom and smell up the neighborhood. I’ve still got about a month and a half before those guys come along, though.

I had a busy weekend. Worked for 9.5 hours yesterday, came home, did 30 minutes on the bike, and ordered sushi for dinner. I’m afraid I crave nigiri sushi way too often. It’s expensive. But it’s so good. I always eat eight pieces, and I always get the same pieces: ebi, maguru, saki, and nama saki. Every once in a while I’ll try to throw in something I hadn’t had before, but most of the time, I just want the tried and true. It’s so good, and with a sushi restaurant right around the corner, it’s hard to say no. Especially after working a long Saturday.

Today, I actually cleaned my closet and the laundry baskets, went to yoga (for the first time in months–and boy did it feel amazing!), and proceeded to spend the rest of the day being lazy. Reading, watching Adam play Donkey Kong Country Returns, and trying to take it easy. We’re in for a rough couple of weeks at work, and I’m trying to get as prepared as I can. I know that tomorrow is going to be long, and possibly Tuesday, and Wednesday or Thursday for sure. And of course, Friday always sucks. But I am not going in this Saturday. Nope. I have a dental appointment.

Hmm, maybe work would be more enjoyable.

I’ve really got to start taking back some parts of my life. Like yoga, for instance. I think it’ll be easier once the weather breaks for good. Cause in the winter, once I’m home, the last thing I want to do is go back out in the cold to get to class. Also, I’ve just activated my Groupon, so I have four more classes I have to take. And I am so glad I went today, because they cleaned out the mats and if I’d have waited too long, mine could have been donated. See, it wasn’t the mat so much that I was worried about. It was the $70 Yogitoes towel rolled up with it I’d have been upset about losing. But it’s home with me now, so it’s all good. At any rate, my body missed yoga. So did my spirit. I need it and I can’t let life get in the way of it again.

*yawn*

Oh well. Time for bed. The weekend goes even faster when half of it has been taken away.

Good night.

Gotta Get Down on Friday!

**Disclosure: I’m writing this in advance and scheduling it to post because I know I won’t have time to do this actually on Friday. So, by the time this is posted, I’ll be at work, maybe eating lunch, but more than likely crying at the large amount of pages that still need to be read**

I’ll be spending the majority of my day at work. Although, I am planning on working Saturday, so maybe I won’t be there too late. So no “getting down” for me, except getting down to work. *sigh*

Went home early Thursday because I was up late getting sick. Not fun. The thing is, when I get sick like that, I don’t want to eat because I know food will cause discomfort and/or pain. (In this case, it had sailed right past discomfort and made its home in PainVille.) Because of that, I am usually weak and tired. I made it until 2pm before I was completely tapped out. When I got out of the train station, the six minute walk home seemed to take forever. I was just so tired.

I spent the afternoon resting my brain and my body. And now I feel like I can battle Friday/Saturday/Monday, the days from hell at work.

In the meantime, it’s time for a couple of memes:

Friday 5: Clean (1)

What’s in need of a good cleaning?
My apartment. My closets. I really need to clear out clothing I no longer wear/fit.

What’s your idea of good, clean fun?
Reading a book and drinking cherry juice.

How clean is your driving record?
It’s pretty clean. I had a speeding ticket and one accident; both have dropped completely off my record.

When did you last make a clean escape?
Not sure.

What are your feelings about dirty language?
As long as its not directed at anyone to hurt him or her, I have no problem with it.

Friday Fill-Ins (3)

1. I can’t believe I still need a winter coat, ear muffs, gloves, and a scarf to go outside. I am SO OVER winter weather. Been dealing with this crap for 5 months now.

2. Cupcakes for everyone.

3. How can I find time to write, exercise, get enough rest, read, and spend time with my friends? I feel like there is no time for anything anymore.

4. Spaghetti was the last thing I cooked.

5. Six of one doesn’t make sense at all.

6. You think warmer weather means you can leave your dog outside to bark for hours every evening?; nonono!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to nothing. I’ll be at work, tomorrow my plans include being at work for 12-14 hours and Sunday, I want to work out, read, and sleep!

Today is 90% Fired (Multimedia)

Today started off OK. I always fight waking up in the morning; that’s just how I am. But I got up and got dressed and my hair looked all right. I showered Aidan with a billion-ton of kisses, and then I left. It was cold, but whatever. I don’t even expect the weather to approach anything near warmth until June.

Then I got to work. I saw all the work we had to do and immediately went into high-stress mode (and stayed there all day). There was SO MUCH WORK. I was in the office until after 8pm, and I’d been in there that late Friday as well. Knowing that I have to go in this coming Saturday for probably a full day makes me an unhappy camper. Thank the Lord I get time-and-a-half. My check will look nice next week, at least. My body aches with the stress and brain-meltingness of it all, though. I was so busy that I didn’t even think to go to the bathroom until after 3pm. Today was overwhelmingly crazy. Still coming down, actually.

The amount of the day that wasn’t fired was having Aidan an extra night. See, I got his flight departure time WRONG, and got to the airport five minutes before his plane was to take off instead of an hour and five minutes before. Thank goodness Southwest is a reasonable airline. They booked him on a flight tonight and only charged me $15 for the difference in the cost. So, that was a happy accident. He and Adam came for lunch before heading to the airport. I got a bunch of extra kisses and hugs in, and he smelled like brownie batter for some reason.

I miss my little booba. *sigh* It’s too quiet here without him.

Another part of the day that didn’t fail was that I was able to get a shirt from Old Navy that I’d had my eye on ever since I saw someone at work wearing one. It’s so cute, you guys. And the Old Navy I went to had very few left. Check it out:

YAY.

And here is something that can cheer anyone up:

I am so ready for summer. I am ready to wear all the cute new tops I’ve bought. I’m ready for warm weather and sunshine. I’m ready to stop wearing a billion layers, gloves, hats, scarves. I am ready for light breezes and blue skies. I’m ready to pull out the light clothes and put the heavy stuff away. It’s a shame that it stays cold here for so long. *sigh*

Anyway, that’s all for now. Time for Twilight with RiffTracks. LOLarity will ensure. And I’m pretty sure tomorrow will be much better.

Good night.
