CRUSH pt 2

Sent off long synopsis, short synopsis, and partial to The Agent today. My part’s done.

Now I wait.

In the meantime, here is what I sent to my agent back in May:

Corinne (Cori) Manahan has a secret, one so big that her parents relocated the entire family from Los Angeles, California to Columbus, Ohio to escape it. Despite her rocky relationship with her mother, her penchant for blowing off schoolwork, and the guilt that gnaws at her relentlessly, Cori’s social life blooms. She has new best friends, a boy who treats her like the princess she doesn’t believe she is, and even a girl who has decided to take a “special” interest in her… or more accurately, the “purity” of Cori’s soul. If only Cori could let go of the depression she constantly feels over placing her son Conner for adoption, life might be okay. Unfortunately, her feelings manifest in the most unhealthy ways, and could cost her the love of the one boy who would do anything for her.

CRUSH

I finished revising CRUSH and sent it off to The Agent today.

::deep breaths, deep breaths::

Now I just need to pound out the synopsis and shoot that off to him. Hopefully I’ll have it to him tomorrow.

Project Rundown

I stole this idea from adamselzer.

BOOKS

CRUSH: Completed, now editing. Plan to have revisions done and sent to The Agent by July 31, 2006.
MOVES: Started, about 13K words into it. Framework is laid out, just needs fleshing. On hold until CRUSH is submitted. Target completion date is December 1, 2006.
UNTITLED I: Sequel to CRUSH, but can also be a stand-alone. Started, fewer than 1K words in. On hold indefinitely.

Ideas are cooking (with scant notes made) for the following titles:
– Apple Blossom
– Netpixies

MEDIA

Website: Professional writing site. URL to come. :)

The Problem

So, I just got my CRUSH critique back from Mandy (mandywriter). The things she picked up on were the things I knew I had to fix. Some other things too–just things you KNOW as a writer, but the reader doesn’t know. The things that you know you have to clarify. Those things. Yeah.

And she gave me some suggestions which will help a LOT. CRUSH is going to be even better than it already is. :)

I’ve been working on revisions all evening–my eyes are literally about to cross. AND I STILL WANT TO KEEP GOING.

The problem is that I’m so anxious for this to be done and shipped off to my agent, that I want to push myself to limits unknown. And I know that’s not healthy. So I will be patient. After all, I do have a more than a month before my target date.

Still. I’m antsy! But okay. Putting the computer away for a bit…….

Goal Check In!

My goals for June 2006 were to have 50,000 words done in CRUSH by June 30. I exceeded that on June 9th.

I was to also read one new book. I read at least two new books in June, possibly three. I lost my list, so I can’t remember! WAH!

GOALS for JULY:

·  Finish revising CRUSH by July 31, 2006;
·  15,000 words in MOVES by July 31, 2006;
·  Read two new books.

Onward!
