IM Funnies

WHY are Andy and Tyler such dorks? πŸ˜‰ As you recall, Tyler “gave birth” to a brand new Mac G5 computer last week. Andy (who is a bigger computer geek than Tyler, believe it or not) commented on it, and naturally, I had to ask Tyler about it. Tyler’s computer will be a week old tomorrow. Here are snippets of the conversation(s). They’re quite funny, I promise you. SO READ THEM. Dang it.

Funny IMs.

Sleepover

Last night, Kim and Tina came and slept over. It was a nice, mellow time. Tina brought her new laptop and we played with Lord of the Rings stuff, and then Tina and I ripped CDs! Kim and I ate roast beast sandwhiches and Sun Chips while Tina ate canteloupe. We went to Meijer and checked our blood pressure and weight. πŸ™‚ I played my guitar and my fingers REALLY hurt now.

This morning, I made blueberry muffins and tator tots for breakfast, and then after Tina and Kim left, I went back to bed. But I didn’t fall asleep before the power went out! Of course, there is that moment of panic: Did we pay the electric bill? Did I blow a fuse? Then I heard the neighbor yell “DID YOUR POWER GO OUT?” and I knew I was okay. Warm (no fans!) but okay.

So, my mom called at about 1:30pm. I’d JUST woken up and reset the clock. But I’m an idiot when it comes to reading analog watches sometimes, so I thought it was 12:30. So now, I desperately need a shower. Talk to you folks later!

&Stuff

Just finished having a nice conversation with Tami. Sometimes, I think those are the best ones–the ones that happen out of nowhere but are just great. Who cares that I have to work tomorrow? This is an investment in eternity.

I’m really glad I got the chance to talk to her. Friday night should be fun–Tina is coming over, as well as Tami and hopefully Kim for a sleepover! I haven’t had one of those in a long time. I’m looking forward to spending time with girls being all silly and giggly. Or watching movies or something.

“You wanna, you wanna stay in the tower?”

So, I’ve learned that some people *cough*KellyP*cough*Tami* don’t like my recent choice of music!!! πŸ™ That makes me sad. Not really. We’re all entited to our own opinions! πŸ™‚ Music is so personal, and what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another. I still love the CD. So many of her songs speak to me lately, especially those on the Up! CD. Again… very personal stuff.

So, it looks like I’ll have Saturday night to myself if Jen doesn’t make it down from Chicago. I haven’t heard anything from her yet regarding a definite yes or no, but we’ll see what happens. At any rate, I’m looking forward to the lack of responsibility!! It’s going to be so great to do whatever I want! I will work on my writing, play on my computer, spend time with God, journal, and just enjoy being ME for once. πŸ™‚ Not Ronni the Mom, or Ronni the wife, but Ronni. Me.

As of now, I am winning the AIM online streak. 6 days, 6 hours and some change. Cha-ching! That will probably end, though, as I am now downloading the latest AIM Beta version. If it kicks me off, I have to start all over. But that’s okay.

I need to go to bed. I can’t believe it’s already nearly 2. πŸ™ I’m really wired. Too many weird emotions rushing through me right now. I just feel… strange. I can’t really describe it. I just know I don’t like it.

I SO don’t feel like going to work tomorrow/today.

Good night.

Fun Night!

Friday night, we had a Damascus Young Adult Gathering. It went very well. I saw my friends, and listened to some good stuff. I’m very excited about where the ministry is headed. It’s going to be amazing. I definitely feel like part of the group now. I remember when I first started, how self-conscious I felt because I didn’t fit into the 18-25 age mold they’d set. But Kelly and Tyler and Monica made me feel so welcome that first time I had lunch with them, and told me that my age didn’t matter. Then I found out that Tami and Kim were part of the group as well. WOW! This was great! So, I started attending more and more events, still fighting the voice who kept telling me I didn’t belong. That I was in a different part of life and had no reason to be around. I had to fight a lot of demons to get to where I am now. Thanks be to God, I had friends who wouldn’t give up on making me feel wanted and like I belonged. I had friends who accepted me and Aidan and Chris, and now young families are a part of this ministry. I am pretty much leading a life group (at which I’ve been slacking-oops), making more wonderful friends, and feeling intregal in that ministry. And now, the age limit has been lifted. The guidelines are 18-30ish. But the “rules” are anyone who jives with the group is welcome and they belong. That means so much to me. The name is being changed. So many new things. This ministry is going to explode. GOD IS GOING TO MOVE and it will be awesome!

So, after group, I went to Tyler’s, along with Kelly P and Garth, just to hang out. We played video games and ate cake and talked. Kelly and I painted a picture, which I forgot to bring home. So, I’ll have to get it another time, and I’ll hang it up in our loft or the guestroom! Of course, a late night means goofy people. And goofy people equal goofy quotes. So, here are the two most memorable ones of the night:

Kelly: If I were a stripper, my name would be Donkey Kong.

Tyler (after reading us this long, detailed email message in a very robotic voice): And there was not one period in there.

ETA: I just remembered another one!

Kelly (relating Tyler’s “thoughts”): work-computers-work-computers-PIZZA-work-computers

Other highlights of the night/morning:

Garth doing awesome at his first time playing the racing game.
Garth not doing so well at further attempts in the racing game.
Kelly’s sound effects during the racing game.
CONTRA!!!!!!!
Kelly calling Tyler a “girly man.”
Garth and his “shut-ups.” So cute.
Watching Kelly and Tyler beat the SPECIAL level in Super Mario World on Tyler’s emulator.
Singing showtunes.
Naming other stripper names for the “Stripper Mario Bros.” club: Bowser, Toad, and YoshEE.

GOOD TIMES.

I didn’t get a chance to hang with Chad and Christy tonight, so I have to make it up to them since they so graciously watched Aidan for me while I was at the service. I’d planned on stopping over after hanging out, but it ran a lot later than anticipated. I am not trying to go over someone’s house at 3:35am!

Okay then. I’m tired, and I need to get to bed. Try to get a little sleep. G’night, all!!!

(I mean, good morning!)

Fair Pt 2 & Stuff

I had a great time at the Fair today! πŸ™‚ I went with Craig and Tina, then Chris joined us later. While I was there, I ran into Kelly P. Tyler, Becky, Emily (yoimemily), and Tony. We met up with Craig’s friend Josh, and that was awesome. I ate goood food–a philly cheesesteak sammich (sans onions and peppers, of course), fries, bi-color corn, pizza, and a deep fried Twinkie. My tummy is happy!

I can’t believe I spent around $30 just on food. Who would have thought a little one like me could eat so much?? πŸ˜‰

What’s even more remarkable is that I could eat again right now. Blimey!

I took more pictures–lots of ones of Aidan in those picture posing cardboard thingies. I’ll try to post them tomorrow/tonight, after i’ve gone to the Fair yet AGAIN! This time I’m going with Angelo and Monica, and admission is only (thankfully) $2! Since I’ve eaten everything I wanted this year (corn, fries, turkey leg, Twinkies, pizza, cheesesteak), I really don’t need to eat much tomorrow/today. Just something small if I get hungry enough. Maybe Aidan and I will split some fries or something.

We’ll see once I get out there and start to smell all the yummy food, though. Mmmmm.

We saw the fireworks as we were leaving. We were stuck in a long line of traffic, but we had perfect head-on view. They were gorgeous. Again. OH, Tina and I rode the Wave Swinger (swings), and the Tilt-A-Whirl. The Tilt-A-Whirl was AWESOME. We got some amazing spins out of that thing!!! What I love about Tina is that she will ride all those twisty-twirly rides that everyone else says make them sick. So next year, we’re going to buy the wristbands and go and ride all that fun stuff together! WOOHOO!

In the one building where they have the what Chris not so affectionately refers to as “junk,” I saw some things that really knocked me back into childhood. The Strawberry Shortcake dolls and minatures of MY generation! The snail/cart thing that turned into a picnic table, and her little bike! Oooo. I had all those toys! If I were rich, I’d buy them again! I do love going in that building. All the nice old stuff. Heh.

I saw the new calf, llamas, chicks, puppies, and the grand champion hogs! It was good times. I took pictures of the precious baby calf–looked just like its mama.

After the Fair, I took Tina home, then we went to Craig’s to hang out a bit. On his delicious flat screen TV, we watched Olympics. Tomorrow night is women’s gymnastics!!!! I told him I might be over to watch that, and he said OK! I LOVE watching gymnastics. Oh, if I were RICH, I’d sooo be in Athens right now watching that competition. But alas, that is not the case. Well, I guess it depends on what I am relating it too. I won’t go into that now, though. I’m not in the mood for deep philosphical stuff tonight.

So, it’s time for a bath then bed. I’m going to try not to make it 3 nights in a row where I made the dang water too hot. But my back aches and it’s craving a hot bath! *le sigh* Okay then, night night!
