Saturday 9: Hakuna Matata

Sam has BRUNG it with some Disney questions this week. I couldn’t say no.

1) Sam is crazy for The Lion King. Do you have a favorite Disney movie?
Yes! Beauty and the Beast.

2) The song tells us that Hakuna Matata “means no worries.” Is something worrying you right now?
Yes.

3) Who is the most optimistic person you know?
Rachel Z. from Moksha.

4) Elton John wrote “Hakuna Matata” but didn’t record it. Name a song Sir Elton is famous for singing.
Bennie and the Jets. (I probably totally got that wrong, didn’t I?) Also, Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me. He sang that one with George Michael. 🙂

5) Can you play the piano?
No.

6) Congratulations! You just won a guided African Safari Tour! 8 days in Zambia and Botswana for you and a friend. All expenses paid, and allowing you access to breathtaking, unforgettable sights. It takes at least 30 hours to get there, and before you go you’ll need yellow fever and hepatitis vaccinations and medication to prevent malaria. Are you up for it?
HELL AND ALSO YES.

7) There’s been a mistake. You really won a 4-night Disney Bahamas Cruise for two. Are you relieved or disappointed that you’ll be partying with a guy in a Simba suit on the Lido Deck instead of observing a real lion in the wild?
Still thrilled because I’ve always wanted to take a Disney cruise AND go to the Bahamas.

8) Let’s bring this back to real life — do you have any vacation plans?
June 3, baby. Back to Disney World! 🙂

9) Describe your luggage. Is it durable and high quality? Or are you like Crazy Sam, who has been known to use an Old Navy shopping bag as her carry-on?
I have cheap luggage from Target. It’s OK for now. One day I’d like to get really nice, fancy luggage. I guess I figure I don’t travel enough to justify the cost, though.

The Meme From Memphis (Part 1)

Be honest, who texted you last?
Tami! 🙂 She’s coming to stay with me a few nights next month. SO EXCITED! I’ve not seen her in almost five years!

Do you sleep with the bedroom door open or closed?
Closed to keep some of the the cats out.

Do you drink tea?
Yes.

Do you have plans for tomorrow?
I have a workshop in the morning, then maybe King Spa in the evening.

What’s worse: dry skin or chapped lips?
Chapped lips. Dry skin can be hidden.

Would you be surprised if Facebook started charging?
It kind of amazes me that they don’t already.

Would you rather go to Canada or California on vacation?
California. It has Disneyland.

How many social media sites are you registered with?
OH GOD. Too many. Spend most of my time on Twitter and Facebook, though.

Are you wearing jeans, shorts, sweatpants, or pajama pants?
Jeans.

So, what if you changed lives for one day with the last person you texted?
I’d be a student and I’d have awesome curly red hair.

Last person you told a secret to?
Not sure.

What are you listening to at the moment?
Adam’s pinball game. He’s playing it on his iPad.

Where was the last place you fell asleep other than your bed?
My “nest” in the living room. I took a nap when I didn’t mean to.

Is there someone that you believe you will always be attached to?
*shrug*

Are you going to any concerts this year?
YES. Going to see Marina and the Diamonds!

Do you believe in Karma?
I do, but probably not in the way people traditionally think of karma.

Five

weeeee

I found this on Lesley’s blog. (She found it on another blog.) You know I can’t resist things like this…..

five

…. things you’ll find in my purse
* wallet
* small notebook w/pen
* gum
* lotion
* keys

…. things you’ll find in my bedroom
* at least one cat (unless they’ve been shut out b/c someone peed on the bed again)
* stuffed animals
* toys
* clothes all over the floor
* snacks

…. things I’ve always wanted to do
* write a best selling novel
* go to another country
* act in a hollywood blockbuster
* walk the red carpet
* be interviewed on a talk show

…. things I’m currently loving
* that there is technically only 18 days of winter left
* my cute new headphones
* tang
* my new stuffed bear (but Pandernoodle is still #1 with me!)
* looking forward to Disney World this coming June

…. quirks I have
* a strong sense of smell
* a hatred of people crowding around me when I am trying to concentrate and/or shop
* a need to sleep with an electric blanket
* a hatred of the sound of footsteps, especially clicky high heels on hard wood or laminate flooring
* a need to read before I can fall asleep at night. There is a big stack of books by my side of the bed.

What about you? If you do this, let me know in the comments so I can check out your Five!

1: Do you notice a persons eye color?

Always.

2: White, milk, or dark chocolate mocha?

Dark chocolate, please. Followed by milk chocolate.

3: If you could get a free tattoo, would you do it? What would it be?

Well, the reason I haven’t gotten one yet is that I can’t decide what to get. But if I could get one free, that would be cool.

4: Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?

I grew up in the city of Cleveland. I liked it OK when I was a little girl, hated it when I was a teenager.

5: Your favorite adult as a child? (and not your parents, if they were your favorite)

My uncle Ervin.

6: What kind of smoothie sounds really good right now?

One without bananas but with other fruits.

7: Most embarrassing moment from your elementary school years?

Didn’t really have any.

8: Most embarrassing moment from your middle school years?

All of them. Middle school sucked.

9: Most embarrassing moment from your high school years?

No comment. 😉

10: Have you ever fired anyone?

No.

11: Have you ever climbed a tree more than twenty feet off the ground?

No.

12: Did you like swinging as a child? Do you still get excited when you see a swing set?

Yes on both counts. 😀

13: If you could have any pet in the world, illegal or not, what would you get?

A giraffe.

14: What’s your favorite place to relax?

Somewhere warm with a nice book.

15: What’s your most favorite part of your personality?

Um…. uh…. I don’t know.

16: Madonna or Lady Gaga? Neither? Both? Who cares?

Madonna. I like Lady Gaga too, though.

17: Have you ever watched the Superbowl all the way through?

Never.

18: Have you ever watched any major sporting event live?

Yes. I’ve been to an NBA game and a MLB game and a soccer game.

19: What’s the most delicious food you’ve ever eaten in your life?

Hmm. That I don’t know. Nothing really stands out to me.

20: Margarine or butter? Which did you grow up with?

Butter, please. Grew up with margarine and only had butter for special occasions. If it was up to me, I’d choose butter every time but Adam likes to get those tubs of vegetable oil margarine things.
