to do

**WARNING**
Rambling, venting, all-over-the-place entry ahead. Proceed with caution.

Finished cleaning the family room last night. With the exception of the carpet (which needs to be steam cleaned), the family room is DONE! 🙂 YAY! That room was giving me the most fits.

The kitchen WAS clean, but then Chris cooked. :

So here is the rundown:

Family Room
Kitchen
Dining Room/Playroom
Living Room
Rose Bathroom

Loft
Guest Bedroom
Aidan’s Room
Master Bedroom
Aidan’s/Guest Bathroom
Master Bathroom
Litter Boxes

The hardest rooms will be the master bedroom and bathroom, the loft, and of course, the kitchen.

Air conditioner hookup has begun! Eric stopped by last night and he and Chris got started, and now it’s set. Eric also cracked a lot of bad jokes. Not naughty bad, but “don’t quit your day job” bad. 🙂 Now there are long pipes sticking out of the back of our house. So exciting. We should have AC by this weekend.

And the temperature will probably drop by then, knowing our luck. But at least we’ll have it.

The house is getting PRIMED for Game Night 2005! YEA!!!! 😀

Craig came by last night and we fed him. There was BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn. Aidan had mac & cheese. Yummy.

Just An Update

I have a lot to do this weekend.

  • Visit Hallmark. 🙂
  • The Bark
  • Put away laundry
  • Clean bedroom
  • Query letter!!!!!!!
  • Enjoy the weekend!

I really wish it wasn’t going to rain Saturday. There is going to be a party for Joshua A at the park. I was looking forward to it, but it’s supposed to be cold and wet, and I’ll have Aidan. The combination does not sound appealing. I might still stop by, especially if the rain has tapered off. We’ll see though.

I’d love to take Aidan to the zoo, but again. That pesky weather has gotten in the way. Drat.

You know, even though it’s trying to warm up, it’s still depressing to get up in the morning, see grey skies, and freeze all day! It’s so cold. I’m still using my heater in the car! When will Spring really get here? And Summer?

Although thunderstorms can go straight to h-e-double hockey sticks.

None of my friends have sympathy for me because they all LOVE storms. What in the world? How did I get tangled up in such a weird bunch? Storms are almost on the same plane as onions as far as I’m concerned.

Which reminds me. One of my favorite quotes from last weekend:

Kim P: I enjoy onions.
Everyone Else: EWWWW!

And now, it’s time for guess the movie. I haven’t played that in a while, have I? 😀
(These are paraphrases, by the way!)

  1. By the time this flight is over, everybody will be pregnant!
  2. As if I’m not already weird enough… LET’S ADD A TIARA!
  3. You got me straight trippin’, boo.
  4. Did you know I’m only seventeen? I probably shouldn’t be drinking this beer… seeing as I’m so–underage and alll.
  5. Get out of here you bastard, or I’ll burn you up. I’ll FRY you!
  6. Go drink a bottle of yourself!

Today at work, I was sorting paper clips. I don’t like the jumbo ones to be bunched in with the regular sized ones, so I was separating them and putting them into their own containers. I had a flashback to when I was in theatre and worked in the scene shop for work study. Periodically, usually after a show and a tear-down, we had to sort screws. Sorting screws was a chore to be despised. Almost as much as washing paint brushes. Ugh, I hated both of them!

Sorting Screws

  • tedious
  • annoying
  • stinky
  • took forever

Washing Paint Brushes

  • smelled like a$$
  • tedious
  • annoying

Dude, we got into some crazy stuff in that scene shop. I used serious heavy duty power tools such as table saws and jig-saws, (and got hooked on the Makita drill!), messed around with materials that covered me from head to toe in a strange dusting—and even though we had on masks and goggles, I still was sneezing that stuff out for hours after we were done working with it.

I miss it. I never thought I’d say that—but I miss it.

This is funny: http://www.bancomicsans.com 🙂 I found it courtesy of itskels. 🙂 You have to love it. Especially since they offer pages of free fonts to use instead of Comic Sans. Woo!

Had fun with my boys Rob and Tyler tonight. 😀 We ate spaghetti, watched a movie, and hung out and talked for a while. Good times, good times. I love Friday nights.

And… HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEGAN!!! 😀

I Want To Go Home!

I am tempted to take off a couple of hours early today. I’m going to ask my boss(es) if I can leave at two instead of four. It’s so beautiful outside, and I just want to relax, run a few errands. Enjoy my last few non-mommy days. 🙂 Work is easy-peasy today, so I won’t get behind.

Had fun at Chad & Christy’s last night again. Craig and Steve came over and Katie was there too. We ate steaks and quesadillas and corn on the cob. Yummmm. Ha, apparently, EVERYONE in the Reynoldsburg/Pataskala/Blacklick area decided to cook out. Rumor has it that Meijer was out of:

– almost all meats
– propane
– prepared salads

Chris and Craig and Steve went back to our house to get the propane off of our grill. I kind of destroyed our grill. I hope they can fix it… but probably not. Chris is okay with that because he wants a new big fancy one. I think we need a patio or something before we do that, though.

We’re getting air conditioning soon. It will be awesome when I throw parties but it will suck all the other times because Chris likes it so bloody cold…

Steve is hilarious. He can tell some stories, let me tell you.

I want to go to the zoo before too long. I want to see the giraffes. Rob?

This morning, I woke up kind of tired but okay. I got ready and left early. Then I hit traffic. There were 4490584905894038 cars out there and they were all slugging along. By the time I got to work, I was drained. My boss was teasing me. Meh.

MANDATORY TO DO – week of April 11, 2005
– buy stamps
– go to library
– shop 🙂
– put away clean laundry

OPTIONAL TO DO – week of April 11, 2005
– load pictures on to computer
– organize photographs for scrapbook
– work on query letter(s)
– send packages

So, I guess a group of us is going to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee during Memorial Day weekend. An eclectic bunch of people it will be, but quite fun. I’m excited and nervous about this trip!

I will be quite the traveller next month. Florida for nine days, then a little break, then Tennessee. Good times, huh? Lots of photo opportunities, I’m sure.

Okay then, ’til later.

Yummy Feelings!

I feel yummy today. I am not sure why. Maybe because the sun came out when I was driving to work this morning. It’s supposed to be in the 60s today, and the 70s tomorrow! 🙂

I’m almost caught up on all my email. Considering I had over thirty at some point over the weekend, this is a phenomenal feat. In my opinion, at least.

I got loads of new CDs yesterday:

Britney Spears: My Perogative Pt 1 | Import Single
Michael Jackson: Bad | Special Edition
Tori Amos: Tales of a Librarian
Tori Amos: The Beekeeper | Special Edition
atb: DJ in the Mix
atb: Addicted to Music

Yeah, I went a little bit crazy…

There was so much I wanted. DJ Tiesto for example. *sigh* If only I had all the money in the world…just… so much music!!!!

Oh well. I’ll just have to pace myself. Now I’m back in Credit Card Payoff Mode. Like, SERIOUSLY. I will have three paid off by the end of the summer, three more by December, for a total of six cards paid off in 2005. And I paid one off last week. So I guess the total for 2005 will be seven cards paid off. Can you dig it? 🙂

Should be fun. Like it’s fun to go to Best Buy with Bizzy and speak with a British accent almost the entire time. And fun to have lunch at Smoky Bones with 19,000 people from church. I always wonder what they think when they see large crowds come in. “Oooh, TIPS!” or “OH NO, WE’RE GOING TO GET SLAMMED!” Our waiter, Ryan, was cool though. He said that we made it easy on him. 🙂

And the cornbread was SO YUMMM!!!

I am so ready for 4pm. I have to get an oil change tonight and do a bit of work on The Bark. Tomorrow, I’ll copy it and have it ready for distribution. 🙂

Restless much? Oh, you bet I am.

Apparently, Chris is doing all sorts of crazy things to the house. I’m excited to seee what he’s done since I’ve been at work today.

And WOOHOO! Another reserve came in for me at the library: The First Part Last by Angela Johnson. 🙂

I have to get an oil change tonight. BORING. But at least it will be done. I’m going to one of the 10-minute places; I bet it’ll be crowded. Bugger. I need to get gas before I do anything, though! So tonight:

– Gas
– Library
– Oil change
– The Bark
– Rob (hopefully?!?)

*mentally tries to speed time up, but only for a bit*

You’d think I’d be all “WHOA! THE TIME IS GOING FAST TODAY!” Thanks to Daylight Savings Time, but I’m not that lucky. Getting use to this always takes a bit of time, but I know I’ll get used to it and love it because the days will be longer and warmer and all that good stuff.

This makes me sad.

And I want to see this. Any of you local folk up for a field trip?

‘Til later…
