Panicky Me?

Today, Adam called just as I was getting into packing up clothing and singing Les Miserables. I asked him if I was panicking about packing, and he told me that I was. I mean, I DO have two weeks to get it together, but I really don’t want to be rushing around at the last minute, throwing things wherever, making a mess. I want to be organized.

With that said, I have my high school graduation and my college graduation gowns still. Caps, too. For some reason, I can’t bring myself to get rid of them! I’ll see if they make the cut this time around. I guess if they fit into the knickknack bin, they can stick around for a bit longer. And hey, if I go to grad school, I’ll already have a cap and gown for it. (My college cap and gown is black, the high school one is gold).

The hardest thing has been the OFFICE SUPPLIES. I had a lot of knickknacks on my desk when I worked at Nationwide. I need to get ruthless. I also found a stack of letters. I can never resist letters. Hmm, knickknack bin, I suppose. Oh, and I found my BoysIIMen CD with Motownphilly on it, plus a bunch of other CDs I’d “lost.” Good times.

Anyway, this was a pretty pointless post, but the fact remains that two weeks from now, I’m going to be finalizing things for my move to Chicago. HOLY CRAP. Three weeks from now, I’ll actually be living there. *gulp*

Send good and productive vibes my way, please! :)

Out of the Mouths of Babes

So, after Aidan’s bath, he was in the living room drying off. I was in my room looking for something that was clean and also not packed. Not easy to do these days. I am in desperate need of a laundry episode. I’ll probably do a load tomorrow, just so I can have some packing/lounging clothes.

Anyway, while I was in my room, Aidan was in here, and I heard him say:

“I’M SICK OF BEING FRICKIN’ COLD!”

:O :O :O

I’m pretty sure he got that from his dad; frickin’ is not a word I use.

Although I have to totally agree with him.

Now, he’s playing with his toys and having them beat each other up. When I asked him why they’re fighting, he said they’re playing “The Lion Game,” which is a variation of my Bookwork Adventure game, apparently. Bookwork Adventure is like Mortal Kombat or something, only you defeat the enemies with big words. (YES, I KNOW I’M A NERD!)

And now he’s just finished singing something about his lion being “red and great.”

That kid and his imagination. πŸ™‚

I need food. What should we have for dinner? I’m thinking spaghetti. πŸ™‚ That’s always a hit.

Move Date!

The move date is finalized!

March 17, 2008!!!

That means three weeks from now, I’ll be living in Chicago for good. No more tearful goodbyes at the airport. No more scratching my brain trying to figure out how to pack for the Chicago weather and not have to check bags. No more psycho neighbors.

Guess who is a little bit nervous, a lot excited, and feels bittersweet about the whole thing? :O

The Luxe

Will someone please tell me what happened at the end of THE LUXE? The copy I got from the ilbrary had bad signatures, so after chapter 39, it started over at chapter 34! I didn’t get the ending. πŸ™ I guess I can camp out at a Borders and read the last few chapters, but I don’t know if I’ll have time to do that before the big move.
