shopping

:)

Today was cool!

Firstly, it was payday. YAY!

Then, The Siebert Elementary 4th grade chorus came and sang at my work today. THEY WERE SO ADORABLE! And they sang original songs, and looked like they were having a blast. I got a little choked up, imagining Aidan standing in front of a crowd singing holiday songs. It’s coming up sooner than I think.

After work, I went to Discount Tire to see about getting a real tire back on my car. I went inside, and stood in line for about thirty seconds before I came across a sign that said “free repair or replacement.” And I thought “Wait a minute. I was here two years ago, and I remember that. I’m going out to my car to see if I still have the paperwork.” I DID! And I had a certificate for a free replacement. So I got a new tire for FREE! WHEE!!!!

And guess what I found at Target for Aidan! A TMX Tickle Me Elmo. I grabbed it and my mom is going to pay me back for it, because she wants it to be a gift from her. There were about five there, and I put one in my cart, and a lady came along and took two (the customer limit) while I was standing there talking to Mommy (on my cell phone)! I was SHOCKED to see it there and thought “I’d better get it now because who knows if I’ll come across another one?” And I think Aidan will LOVE it. Absolutely LOVE it.

So now I am DONE officially, with my holiday shopping. Now it’s wrapping time, and Christmas card time. But tonight, it’s bed time.

Later!

Thanksgiving!

I forgot my camera, so I didn’t get to take a picture of my meal, which consisted of mashed potatoes, corn, green beans w/bacon, Honey Baked Ham, rolls, turkey, and gravy. Yummmmm. I didn’t eat myself into a food coma, but it was delicious. Dessert was hot apple pie with (real) whipped cream! πŸ™‚

Had fun hanging out with family members who are absolutely crazy and perverted. Good times, good times. I laughed a LOT today. And still felt as welcome and loved as ever.

The drive back to my place was gorgeous! The sky was clear and the sun had just dipped below the horizon, so there was that blue, then orange, all accented with one of my favorite kind of moon–the waxing cresent. (I also love the waning cresent).

I might or might not have picked up a very small amount of holiday gifts today for people. πŸ™‚ I also just browsed and got ideas for other people. The Christmas section was crowded at Meijer today. Lots of people buying decorations. I got lights for 99 cents a box.

I got ahold of the new Josh Groban CD today. WOW. Just… wow. What a beautiful voice that man has.

Dude. I am so addicted to the Highlights hidden pictures games. You can play them online here: Hidden Pictures! I get frustrated with the ones in the magazine, but some of these have sound and animation. That makes it fun.

As if I needed another online/computer game to become addicted to, right?

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! πŸ™‚

October, Memes, Shopping, & More

Happy October!! It’s adamselzer‘s favorite month, so YAY for him!!!

As for me, this means that Halloween (free candy) is that much closer, autumn peak is about two weeks away (can’t wait to take pictures of the trees at Dawes!!!), and that the crisp air will remind me of the upcoming holidays, like Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and my and Aidan’s birthdays! πŸ™‚

It also means that November 18th is that much closer, when I go to Philly and see Bob Dylan!! He’d better play stuff off of Modern Times, or I will be very sad. No I won’t. I’ll be happy no matter what he plays. But I REALLY hope he plays at least one or five Modern Times songs. Especially Working Man’s Blues #2. Especially that one. Yes.

Anyway, a meme from Rosa (meimeigui):

List five truths. Five things that are on your mind. Good, bad, it matters not. Lift some weight off. Then pick five people to do the same.

Okay, before I do this, are they MY truths, or truth-truths, or what?? Oh heck, here goes (with my truths):

1. Creditors will still call and be annoying regardless of debt management programs being put into place.
2. Capital One is a bitch.
3. Everyone’s spiritual journey is their own, so butt the f*** out if your advice/preaching/words are not wanted.
4. Aidan is the cutest little boy in the world.
5. I love Chicago.

Five people to do this:

pixiedash
magecky413
verytruly
shadowfreder
starrlyte

Have fun, folks! πŸ˜€

Did a little bit of shopping today. Got myself three sweaters and some shirts to wear under the sweaters, and loads of stuff to clean the aquarium with. I also got two little shirts for Aidan. Everything was decently priced–I don’t think I paid full price for any of the clothing I bought today, YAY. The aquarium stuff was a lot more than I’d wanted to spend, but it’ll be worth it to keep a healthy tank.

No more spending for me for a long while, though. I’m done. πŸ™‚

I have lots of emails to pay attention to, a website to set up, and poop. The weekend is always almost over. πŸ™
Sundays go so quickly. πŸ™ The weekends go by too quickly. Then it’s another LONG LONG work week.

Nine million people are IMing me now, so I’m going to go and pay attention to them. ‘Til next time!

Letter Writing & Stationery

About ten years ago, I used to love collecting stationery and stickers. But then I got out of the whole letter-writing mode and got more into email and such. I still have plenty of stickers left over from my scrapbooking phase, but I lost my stationery.

I do have a lot of scrapbooking paper, but it’s not lined, and I really prefer writing on lined paper.

I’ve discovered how much I miss writing letters and how much I’d like to get into it… however, I cannot for the life of me remember where I used to buy all the pretty stationery I used to have! I was thinking places like Target or Hallmark, but their selections are regretfully small. It’s all about notecards and things like that. I’m looking for letter sheets and matching envelopes. I don’t need personalized, and that’s all the online places seem to offer. For those of you who buy and use stationery, where do you go to get it?

Double Rainbow on Easter morning 2006

Hola!

Late update, or early, I guess, huh? I’d planned to do it Saturday evening, but a trip to Best Buy beckoned me, where I picked up a digital SLR camera! I got the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and I LOVE IT. I haven’t even gotten a chance to play with it fully, but so far, it’s awesome. I know that I’m going to want lenses next. Heh. I just really wanted a nice camera to take to the Grand Canyon with me. Not that my Sony isn’t nice, because it definitely is, but there is something magical about SLR. I’m going to be totally loaded down when we go out there. YAY for fun pictures!

Speaking of fun pictures, here are a few from the past week:

Another rainbow picture.

Dinner at O’Charley’s on Monday. SO yummy!!!

ROCK ON!!!

Morning Commute.

My week in review:

Monday – work, evening out with friends, including David who was in town for Easter. Yummy O’Charley’s.
Tuesday – work, the cookout at Craig’s.
Wednesday – work, then life group/party at my house. Cookout food, movies, fun.
Thursday – a trip to Half-Price books where I loaded up on CDs, a few books, and bookmarks. I spent over $30, so I got the free tote bag!
Friday – work, then RELAXING the rest of the evening. Reading, watching TV, just trying to dump my brain.
Saturday – wrote, relaxed, napped, shopped, at dinner at Red Lobster. Yummy. Aidan also threw a minor fit and broke the fish bowl (no fish were in it, thank goodness!). No fun. Ha.

So, here is the thing. Lately, I’ve been craving and eating a TON of fish. Well, I guess that’s relative, but yeah. Just fish drenched in lemon juice. That’s what I had tonight and it was sooo yummy. I feel kind of bad, though. I’m eating Freddie and Flossie’s relatives, in a way. but I guess not. Anyway, I’ve been TRYING to eat better. French fries are so dang good, though. However, I’ve increased my intake of fish, veggies, and salads, so that helps, right? I’ve been eating too much red meat, though. I should definitely try to cut that down.

I had the scare of my life. After we were done in Best Buy, we were ready to leave, of course. Aidan stood in the corridor and would not come out. When Chris went to go and get him, he took off into the store and disappeared. I went after him, and couldn’t find him. I alerted a couple of employees, and the guy at the guard desk locked the doors and everyone was on the lookout. Aidan finally came running back up to the front. I didn’t know whether to spank him or hug him. So I picked him up, hugged him and said “You’re in BIG trouble MISTER!” And I was NOT joking.

I get Aidan duty ALL day later on. That will be hard. I’m trying to figure out what we can do. I definitely have to call itskels to see if she wants to go to Old Navy, then I might take Aidan to Bob Evans or something. I’m exhausted just thinking about it. He was up Saturday morning at 7:45am!!!!

I also have to go to the library and drop off some books. I’d LOVE to go to the park, but darned if it’s not supposed to storm tomorrow. BOOOOOOO.

I need to get some rest, though. I’m going to have a busy day. ‘Til next time!
