I feel like doing a sort of mushy post, and to write about what inspires me in regards to my writing. Those of you on my F-List, feel free to copy this for your own journals.
What and Who Inspires Me:
1. Reading author/writer/agent blogs.
2. Chatting with my mentor (smile!) Lauren (laurenbarnholdt), because she’s quite a few steps ahead of me in following her dreams, but not so far that she’s unreachable. In addition, she is upbeat, positive, and encouraging. We already have plans for me to be sitting next to her when she goes on her book tours, so she can pimp my book too! (this means I have to sell something before long…)
3. Sarah Dessen (writergrl). She says that even if she hadn’t been published, she’d still be writing, she loves it that much. I know that I’m the same. Plus, she writes amazing stories with unforgettable characters. I hope I am half the writer she is.
4. When people tell me “you ARE a good writer, dangit!” (Much thanks to Rebecca Vinyard for that!)
5. The support from my friends and family.
So, I CAN’T give up. I love writing too much. There’s that *feeling* I get in the pit of my stomach when I know something great is brewing inside of me. When there is a story dying to be told. I know I’ll write, even if I never sell a single book, but I can’t NOT write. It’s a part of me, it’s ingrained in me, it’s in my very nature.
And time for me to work/write/dream.

Magical Night of Giving was so neat! I got my Christmas shopping started YAY!!!!! I was listening to Christmas music in my car, and yes, I’m in the spirit. A little bit early, but not by much. π They stamped my hand and I got all sorts of discounts in loads of stores. Hallmark had a special–buy one roll of regular wrapping paper ($4.99) get a mega roll free. Kaufmann’s had a spend $50 and get a $10 gift card for free. Everywhere had a “spend this and get that” or at least 10% off everything in the store. Free makeovers and hand massages in Sak’s, door prizes. I didn’t see the WNCI guys there, though. π Maybe they were at the other mall. Oh well, I had fun anyway.
First highlight of the evening the wrapping paper light saber fight that Kristen and I had:
Then, we tried on dresses.
Here is me and Nikki, matching!
Here is the dress I FELL IN LOVE with. I wanted to buy it so badly, but I don’t have anywhere to go in it, and spending $150 on a dress just because it’s pretty is just not practical!!! But anyway, here I am:
I had a good time tonight. π It’s always great to hang out with a fun bunch of gals. π I can’t wait for our fondue night. π π π
G’night!!!

MASSIVE case of SELF DOUBT attacking me right now.
Doesn’t help that I don’t feel that great.

Check THIS out:
OH YEAH. I got to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire today!!!!! YAY for brother-in-laws who call radio stations and win screening passes, woohoo. My favorite quote from the move:
Crouch: The Chinese Fireball. Oooooo.
I’m definitely NOT going to give away any spoilers, but I do want to say that the guy who played Cedric Diggory… mm-hmm. HOT. The movie was good, definitely a LOT darker than previous versions. A lot was cut from the book–most of it I was glad about. Ha. I enjoyed it, and sat there thinking “I can’t even believe I’m sitting here watching this already!” And let me say that Ron’s first line in the film is hilarious, and there are some great dialogue exchanges that had me laughing out loud. GO SEE IT. Well, on Friday, like the rest of the little people (TOTALLY KIDDING!). It’s good stuff.
And look what else is happening to our house. Yes, this is our house/yard. OH DEAR.
YESSSS! It’s that time of year again and I am excited. I bought a Harry Potter ornament for the tree, and exactly ONE Christmas present so far. I’m going to start shopping tomorrow night during the Magical Night of Giving (Link) at Polaris Fashion Place. That should be really excting and fun. Yay! Also, Santa makes his debut, so hopefully I can get a picture of/with him.
Can you believe it? I am sick again. Nothing like before–but my throat’s been bothering me the past few days and I’m stuffy. π So yeah, I’m glad it’s the weekend.
And… I know some of you keep telling me not to, but sometimes, I really AM tempted to give up a certain HUGE dream of mine. But we’ll see. This will probably pass again.
Hmm. I guess that’s all for now. Ack. It’s only 5:45ish and it’s already getting dark out. π I miss the long days.
Later!
P.S. The Buckeyes kicked BOOTAY today!!!!
EDIT 7:01pm
The Christmas Lights are up. Yes, insanely early, but hey, in Ohio, we must take advantage of the nice weather! π
